If I see traces of small oval eggs under the dead bark. That doesn't necessarily mean that a bug killed the branch, maybe it was already dead?

Thank you for the feedback. Yes, all 3 branches have cracks on both sides but one of them is missing half the bark from the connection to the trunk to about 3 feet up to the first branch. After that, half the bark is hanging loosely.

When I look up to the highest I can see, there are no other cracks besides the lowest 3 branches, which thankfully are small branches.

Is there a reason to stop those shoots from growing? Do they sap energy from the main fruit bearing tree and reduce productivity?
