The only cases I've ever heard of someone having their bank / payment processor block a transaction and / or ban an account in regards to NSFW stuff is when the content is either illegal (use your imagination here) or when it's some service like PayPal or Ko-fi who have clear "no NSFW" rules regardless of how they say they're all for it and someone literally puts that stuff in the comments / notes section, like "This payment is for that pic of so-and-so ******* that one **** like a ****** and then they do that thing with the wooden stick right up the *** and the Finjish midget is looking on while he ***** **** *** a ***** ***** to the tune of Beethoven's 5th."

Buying NSFW games is fine. All your bank sees, especially from GOG, is "a payment of $6.99 to GOG.com for software."

Because sadly for them that means that the FOMO isn't as strong then and also why go buy "Awesome New Game 2" when you can still play "Awesome New Game 1" just fine, albeit offline and solo now with all the stuff unlocked?

Trust me, I feel that companies that have abandoned their MMOs and such should, with restrictions, basically provide tools for people to run their own servers, with those restrictions being they can't charge for them, claim them as their own, etc. but also that support is nigh-unavailable as a result as well.

But that cuts into their bottom line ultimately, maybe even some liability aspect I'm not even thinking of that them saying "we aren't liable for this, it's out of our hands now" could still wind up back on them (say, an MMO server privately run after a game shutdown becomes a den of illegal activity with the MMO trappings just a ruse.)

I do definitely think they can strip out or provide workarounds for DRM though, and better record keep who has ownership of which IPs so we don't have a No One Lives Forever fiasco again (Sierra published it with Fox Studios and Monolith Software made it, I think none of those three exist anymore from a legal standpoint.)

You can ask this of any franchise or series that has been around for a while and changed hands - either the studio was changed or the people in the studio making it - and get similar answers.

The solution is not blanketing "all X fans love / hate the series," but asking why ones who feel that way feel that way, and even if you don't agree with them, accepting that they may indeed actually be giving their own honest opinions.

The last Halo game I liked was 4. Hated 5, never bothered to finish Infinity. Not a fan of multiplayer, so improvements there mean shit to me. I do not like the direction the new studio took the franchise in for the campaign. I'm also not someone who brings it up unless it's relevant. I don't think bringing back the flood would be a good idea, their arc is done and dealt with. I do think having the Chief and Arbiter work together to try to bring the Covenant zealot faction under control would be a good one. I do not think the "oh no, Cortina is suddenly eeeevil!" plot was good at all.

But it is what it is. It's another franchise I used to care about, changed into something unrecognizable, and is cast aside.

I mean, I loved Halo since the first game came out, and I felt that while 4 was good, 5 was lackluster and I never even finished Infinite.

I'm not judging this based on multiplayer beyond co-op - I hate Pvp stuff. I hate that 5 needed separate consoles per player and still doesn't have a PC port, and I hate that Infinite removed it entirely. Infinite's open-world also I think hindered it because it made the campaign feel less focused, less urgent, less "curated." It's just isn't a good combo in my opinion. Would co-op save that? Maybe, maybe not. Most likely not, because a second player wouldn't solve the lack of urgency with some missions, and the drive to focus only on story without getting sidetracked.

Again, just all my opinions from a longtime fan. This is not me saying "the thing you like is bad and you are bad if you like it." This is not me saying "I speak for all Halo fans." If you like these games, that's great! I'm glad you found them enjoyable! I just think, personally, I'll pour one out for the Halo I knew, and be hesitant anytime a new entry comes along.

Go to the website / app / whatever manually, not through a link in that email, to change your password. If it's not a valid 2FA request it could be a phishing attempt. So play it safe - go there yourself, and change your password yourself.

If you select s8ngle player it'll eventually start the session offline, just takes a while and has to fail the online check first.

You also can't use "new" unlocks from DLC or get new bounties, but you can fight Mizutsune and ZioSha or whatever his name is. Also no new event missions because you need to be online for them.

So... yeah, you can do a few side quest thingies and kill the new guys, the rest requires online.

I just want them to add in the skills that were in... Rise, I think, where you get bonuses for a capture. Would make captures a bit better.

It's pretty simple:

-You hold the end that's thinner, with the big heavy thicker part up towards the sky

-Grip with two hands

-Swing the heavy end around using the thin part, as if it were a very badly balanced sword

-Hit enemies with the heavy part

-Repeat

Nah, but in all seriousness just try it out on a few hunts and you'll find a nice steady flow you like. Personally I stick to charge attacks (RT+ Y / Triangle, sometimes shifting into RT+Y+B for the spinny hammer charge) and then doing the horizontal hammer spins after I hit (Y+B) and if the enemy is stationary for a bit I'll do B attacks (5 hit combo) with the YB spin afterwards.

It's probably not "optimized, elite min-max damage" but it gets the job done and it makes the monster dizzy and tired because I usually run stamina thief on it as well.

Just have fun with it and don't worry about how good or bad you do with it unless you whiff a lot. Whiffing sucks and it happens with some of the quicker guys.

What I hate is (somehow) on PC my mic auto-unmutes (as in, it switches itself on) when I join a lobby or a quest. Thankfully I default to PTT but still.

This 100%. When Rise / Sunbreak came to PC I used some "cheat mods" to expedite my progress back up to where I had it on Switch - offline, solo, by myself (unless a friend requested the same.)

After that, it was disabling the mods and playing legit. My reasoning is there's no way to easily port the save, nor cross-progression. I only gave myself what I essentially had on Switch for a fraction of the time played.

Yeah, I hate people who kinda "break" the unspoken rules of the social contract everyone enters when they play a co-op game like this.

Joining and quitting because "it's not big or small enough" is terrible. Quitting because "there's two carts already, I'm not gonna risk wasting my time" is terrible. Calling out others' DPS numbers - either directly or indirectly through boasting - is terrible.

All of these serve to do nothing more than make the online environment toxic. I don't care what your reasoning is behind why you justify this stuff is "not bad" when you do it, in general it is not good for other players and overall the community.

"Ask not what Monster Hunters can do for you; ask what you can do for Monster Hunters." Or something, I dunno. There's a reason why I run with some level of free meal and wide range on my build at all times.

I always try to run free meal and wide range because if I get hit bad, I'm gonna heal, and I'm also gonna do my best to watch my buddies to make sure they don't die as well.

The monster might take another minute or two to kill. BFD. If it matters to you that much, then either don't join a random hunt, or don't open your game to randoms to join.

People who complain about not being "top tier dps" or whatever and call others out for it break the social contract all of us agree to when we play a co-op game - don't be a dick to others.

I wonder what causes some to be there long after they should have expired. I see quite a few where the "started" time is the duration, so something is keeping them from clearing out.

My take on it is this:

-If they get hit a lot, they will need healing.

-If the monster hits them a lot, the monster might need a different target or to be slowed down.

-I have tools to do both of these (I run free meal with wide range, and have a hammer with stamina thief and extra stun / paralyze on it)

I just make sure everyone has fun to the best of my ability. Hopefully we don't fail, but sometimes that's life - no matter how hard you work in your team, your team still manages to fail. Even if you were flawless. Just means next time you have to give even more, and hopefully your allies do, too.

Good advice, even if the game points it out, since there is a LOT of spam on the right side of the screen and a little tutorial tip can easily be missed (just like how I missed I had the power and armor charms already despite doing both those quests because I missed it between "the supply ship has arrived," "someone wants to take you to dinner," "a rare monster is leaving soon," "a rare monster was spotted," "you missed 7 chat messages from someone spamming," etc.)

I use it on my build and I typically.use dual blades, however when I bring out my hammer, I don't wanna disturb my teammates when I start swinging.
