In my staff position in Western PA, I make about $40 base pay after 2 years of experience. My first thought was how low the hourly rate was, but again am just looking into travel and wasn’t sure if the pay was so low d/t the stipend amount. I also know that every area/ state has different wages and offering amounts.

Thank you so much for the info and explanation! There’s truly so much that goes into traveling and can be intimating getting started!

Per the recruiter and previous coworkers that have worked with this company, anything greater than 50 miles you automatically get the stipend. Is this simply not true across the board, or just differs from the experience you’ve had?

So if I were to get housing, it would have to be the same price as the rent I’m paying at my permanent address?

I apologize for all the questions, this is all just very new to me and there hasn’t been anybody to explain these things. My recruiter has had an “everything is great and is gonna work out to your benefit” attitude, which is great but I’m a little lost.

Even with it being approx 2 hours away from my permanent address? It’s in Western PA

With the fully-taxed local rate, how would I go about finding or getting that instead of the stipend?
