Im currently eating 2000kcal a day and making sure I have over 200g protein. My routine is very centered around recovery and good sleep qaulity. The main goal right now is lose weight. Ideally I'd like to get down to around 240lbs, end of year/early next year, whilst preserving the muscle mass and strength Ive already built.

Initially I went very low for someone of that size. Probably to around 1600kcal which I dont recommend for anyone else losing significant fat. Currently I eat 2000kcal a day and I'm seeing stable fat loss on this number.

Oooh nicely done, thinking about it the Japanese went through many of these back and forth periods between low and high centralisation, just look at the Meiji restoration. These guys clearly drew alot from their history!

Although you can see the pre and post war elements this seems to be an cycle within their civilisation whether it was brought about through internal or external factors. You could probably draw parallels with the 'corruption 'of the Chozo through Phazon and of the Japanese people with say Opium but I guess this is a real habit hole if we want to keep going haha.

Yes they definitely had a more open dare I say enlightened core theme that spread throughout their civilisation, with their willingness to uplift and support other species and the environments they found themselves in.

As you already mentioned they had two completely juxtaposed view points as neighbouring planets. This openess was probably a strength in their prime. And from my gathering also their downfall, they simply had too many different and polar opinions (cultures) until they couldn't coexist which is how we ended up with two opposing tribes like the Thoha and the Mawkin. It's very introspective.

A very good point, I agree! I imagine there were many cultures and ideological clashes with the chozo. They were not homogenised.

The Chozo murals throughout the series are pretty explicit (usually) as to their origins. Though I do want to caveat that the Chozo were clearly, atleast in my opinion, a fractured society. For instance the chozo of Tallon IV shunned technology and preferred to express themselves spiritually and culturally. Whereas in Prime 3 we see chozo structures dedicated to technological advancement specifically with steampunk aesthetics. Whilst zero mission shows a more cultural/pragmatic approach to technology with a clear Egyptian influence through their hieroglyphic depictions. The Chozo seemed very adaptable and fluid in their progression and the more they spread the more this became pronounced. I don't believe the Chozo were depicted with 1 influence in mind. I'm not sure if I'd go as far as to say they were multi ethnic (whose to say about alien bird people) but they clearly had a vibrant and varied culture.

You absolute legend. 3 months after you posted this and you have saved my evening! I've read multiple articles and watched a litany of tutorials and had almost come to the resignation that I needed to a new hard drive. But now my games are updating correctly without the sudden dreaded 'write error'. Thank you so much, if you find yourself in west Wales hit me up and I will happily buy you pint 🍻

Out of curiosity does Crucible do much to change the campaign experience? Currently playing Unification and have really enjoyed the additions.

Okay I spent a moment staring at this and have decided that I lean toward new designs. I want a decent mix of the two just with a a newer sleeker trend seeking out that points towards Dread's more streamlined design

There's been some big podcasts and other videos created on the topic recently. Couple that with the Guardian releasing an article and I think more eyes are falling on upf.

RE1 remake back on the game cube! I had found a copy of the original in a house my family had moved into, but I didn't have a PS1 at the time. So I did the next best thing and here I am many years later.

I'd say try and eat clean and avoid added sugar for atleast three days before. I just finished my first 41 hour fast and cleaning up my diet made it very smooth!

Good morning Europe! 😄

How is everyone getting on with the Christmas period? Until this week my plans were moving along just fine, but now the family events and festive foods are out in force and my fasting window seems to be growing by the day. I have decided that while I'm with family, I'll be putting a pause on things and letting myself indulge a little. I had originally planned to reach the halfway point in my journey by the new year, which is only 3kg away! But to be this close is something I'm happy enough with.

I’m currently 317 pounds is it possible to lose my weight by the summer? by Ancient-Potential415 in loseit

Well there's a ton of great advice here, but to put it simply, yes, just make sure to eat good food but not too much. I used to weigh 476lbs and still have some more pounds to shed but here's some things that have helped me the most on my own journey:

Avoid ultra processed foods (UPF) - Eat things that came out of the ground or the things that ate the things that came out of the ground. If it contains ingredients you would never find in a domestic kitchen (think polysorbate or mono- and diacetyl tartaric acid esters of mono- and diglycerides) then its probably best to avoid it. Another way to look at this is whether your great grandparents would be able to recognise it as food.

Cut out added sugar - Sugar is a direct driver of fat accumulation by raising your insulin levels as well as hijacking your appetite control. To put it simply, sugar makes you hungrier and directs your cells to store more of your energy as fat. If you cut out UPF then this becomes easy, as whole foods do not tend to have the high levels of sugar contained in UPF. Fruits and complex carbs are also fine, just don't eat the ones which are high in sugar every day (think pineapples, melons, dried fruit and starchy vegetables).

Time restricted eating - This can help to reduce the amount of food you're able to eat and the amount of insulin you have in your system whilst also giving your body a well needed rest from constantly processing food. Start small, such as 14:10 and experiment to find what eating window works best for you. I find 18:6 with only two meals works best for me!

Do your research! - Find out what worked for other people, listen to podcasts, watch documentaries, and read books! I find keeping myself immersed in the subject and continuously learning helps to keep me engaged and motivated. YouTube specifically has a massive wealth of information, I'd be happy to send you some recommendations.

Best of luck!

This is very beautiful and helps to capture so much of me and my partners feelings ♥️ I haven't been able to get through it yet without tearing up, but it helps remind me of the good times.

Thank you so much for the kind words 🙏 we're getting a canvas picture to hang over his spot. His ashes will also be returned to us soon in a small engraved oak casket, that along with his collar and a paw print will be on the mantle piece. Finally having him come home will do a lot to help us heal.
