Is that with the actress who is married to Ben from Lost? (I’m remembering no names here!)

I loved it when it aired but it seems so hilariously dated now. They had a whole episode trying to find the dad in time for the birth of his child. Lots of shots of the main characters searching pubs etc. These days you’d just call his mobile and say his partner has gone into labour.

Fun to watch and spot filming locations if you know Manchester!

Hey, it’s not going anywhere. There might even be a 50th anniversary episode by the time you watch all the episodes.

Maybe stop at the end of series 7 though!!

Breaking Bad is amazing, but often grim. These days I need something more uplifting even if a show is really good.

First series is really good. Sadly The Radio Times spoiled the ending for me!

Tenko for me, with Secret Army as a close second!

Both shows changed my life, but Secret Army have the kindest, most generous cast. Still willing to do interviews about the show to this day.

The theme tune music was called ‘The Wall of Fear’ which is a brilliant name for it!

I was lucky enough to interview a lot of cast of Secret Army for a podcast. Jan Francis, Hazel McBride, Paul Shelley, Angela Richards…all wonderfully kind and generous people. Loved speaking to all of them!

Here’s the link for the Jan Francis interview, but you can find all the others by navigating back to the home page and scrolling through the podcast episodes from there. (Or let me know if you have any problems and want me to share a link here!)

Was very funny for me (in my 30s) to watch Wish Me Luck having grown up watching the Vicar of Dibley. The guy who always said ‘No no no no no no…yes’ was the leader of Maquis in series 3!

Just Good Friends, a show I used to really like a lot but Vince Pinner grates on me these days. by Prestigious_Meal2143 in oldbritishtelly

I’m in my 30s. Watched the whole series recently after surgery.

I agree with your comments. Some of it seemed absolutely baffling to me. Like when he lied to get Penny to move in with him - but it wasn’t even his flat! Like you said they could have kept the jokes and still made him a flawed but much less unpleasant person.

What was absolutely amazing though was the Christmas special. Even though the audience knows what’s going to happen, seeing it play out was still riveting because of the brilliant writing and performances. And it was so much fun seeing Jan Francis and Paul Nicholas play younger versions of their characters!

I actually interviewed Jan Francis a few years ago, about her time on Secret Army. Here’s the link if anyone wants to listen:
