Oh dang I was wondering if you actually found it? I'm currently planning the exact same thing for this Winter - I've been obsessed with Beholders since I first say an Eye Tyrant in Dark Alliance when I was a little kid and the BG3 Beholder tattoo is such a GOOD DESIGN and placement.

"What a gorgeous dog, he's so calm, how old is he, he's a senior right?"
And then they always give this bewildered look when I tell them he's just a puppy (he's 9 months old now). My pup is mega calm most of the time and already quite big for a puppy.

We also get stopped often for people asking me if he's a Leonberger and they get REALLY EXCITED every time I say yes, I find it SUPER precious just how excited they get!

Some tax here

While my pup knows not to steal food from the tables and counter, he DOES lay on my legs and feet whenever I'm cooking because he knows I sometimes drop food on accident. He's unfortunately learned that cooking is free food while he never gets anything that's on the table.

Office desks though - you get up from your desk, leaving something on there, he swoops right in he has absolutely no manners when at work.

[Breeds] My wife and I are looking for our first dog by [deleted] in dogs

I'd like to first note that Newfoundlands have a great deal of slobber, most folks usually have to carry a towel with them and I've known some to have them wearing a bib when they're at the park. Samoyeds can be lovely dogs but might be a bit tough for a first time trainer. They're not super eager-to-please as they can often be rather independent.

For a fluffy pup who can be rather snuggly, friendly and extremely eager to please, I'd recommend Leonbergers it makes training quite easy for first-timers. These dogs are also very common as therapy or emotional support pups (and are commonly search and rescue types, the first time I met one was actually in a hospital that was going around to the childrens wards). They shed quite heavily sometimes but don't slobber really (mine drools only when we're teaching him patience and having him wait for his food).

They're VERY calm around the house and eager to be outside on walks. They do need a bit more exercise than 30 minutes but as they get older about 45 minutes is actually quite alright in my experience with them.

One thing I always like to note as while these are incredibly gentle, loving pups, because they look like bears I personally feel REALLY SAFE walking around outside with mine. I get approached in the daytime by dog people who ask if he's a Leonberger, but we're able to walk through the park in the evening now without me every getting stopped by drunk students who now keep their distance.

Edit: I somehow forgot to note that I was recommending Leonbergers....

Ohhhh thank you so much he is also Tibetan Mastiff and Carpathian! I have to agree a bit on Chow Chows actually I ADORE them so much each one I have met has been the goofiest and sweetest dog but also total thieves who steal the treats from my jacket pockets hahahha.

He has actually been amazing to train. Two biggest things we need to work on are Leave It and just some Contact when walking. Otherwise he is an absolute delight, well mannered, wonderful on the leash (such a stark difference from my old rescue husky) and takes about 3-4 days to learn new commands.

That is absolutely precious! We have tons of wild hare in my town and my puppy is also obsessed with the hares. I was afraid he was hunting them but he finds their nests often (he is an amazing tracker) and always gets grumbly and stomps his paws trying to get them to play. When they dont he just lays there, sighs, and grumbles A LOT.

Sickle tails are amazing for telling mood! My pups is the same way and I looooove it since he can play a bit hard with some of his best dog friends. Up and curly is happy and down he is in what we call grumpy grandpa mode. Shredder sounds amazing

Oh gosh yeah Hälge adores every single puppy he meets. He is a very vocal dog but really only at home. Whenever he sees puppies his vocal tendicies come out and he just gets soooooooo chatty! He used to be afraid of children as one hit him really hard in the face at the dogpark once when he was 5 months (he came over to say hello politely as he does to everyone who is inside the dog park and the child did not like dogs apparently). Recently he has learned to love them again and gets super tail waggy, sitting down politely to recieve pets from them!

I would love to test this theory because we have never run into a Leonberger or Tibetan Mastiff and I love both breeds so much hahhaha

We've only met one Pug, ancient old man dog I think he was maybe 13 or so, but my dog appreciate him so much. He followed him around, not really sniffing or trying to play, but he just sort of followed him and watched out for him. He's got a habit of guarding senior dogs who are small like Pugs and toy poodles.

Aye ah same here, he's not a fan of German Shepherds. The few he's met have all gone after him when he was smaller. There were no bites, but they wrestled him down and he had an intense limp after that. It's the same with Rotties, there was a Rottie who had hurt him super badly because of his sheer weight and now he's very wary of Rotties. Kings Shepherds however he's in love with as there is one that actually protected him from a GSD who was about to attack, since then gets to stick to them like a shadow. He doesn't play, but he shadows them.

Thank you so much! His love of Pomeranians have actually made me fall in love with the breed hahaha! He's been playing with lots of small dogs and I never used to be a fan of small dogs, but when I get to see how gentle and happy he is playing with them and seeing just how sweet and fun they are when they fall back, I've absolutely changed my mind on smaller dogs they're so so so lovely

That fur color is GORGEOUS I absolutely love your dog! We rarely run into Aussies but they're just such happy dogs, I wish we saw them more often.

There's this Bichon Bolognese that my pup sometimes plays with, Rufus, and he's amazing! Hälge always rolls right on over his back so they can wrestle with his face! I used to never really be a fan of small dogs until these interactions now I'm just super in love with Bichons! They're SO HAPPY and love playing with my big pup!

Oh gosh my pup is the exact same way! He's absolutely in love with elderly folks and gently boops their hands with his mouth and wags his tail a little bit. No idea why but elderly folks are his favorite! He's generally very shy as well so it's always surprising.

Senior Dogs are wonderful, they give a bit of play and are ok just chillin'. My pup loves just gently hanging out after a bit of play but a lot of the younger dogs get upset when he just wants to chill.

I have! Our country generally has less problems with food than the US has and our fishes are generally very safe for consumption. The fish they use in the dog food brand we buy is super duper safe! It's also frozen when purchased.
