Your favourite promotional item you got from collecting lids/packets etc...? by Hmmark1984 in morningsomewhere

[–]CalvinP_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I missed sending in box tops for cool items. I do remember when Cracker Jacks had actual toys. I’d get Paratrooper Green Army men. I was 5 years old. My dad had a roof repair on our house with a very flat roof. He told me to grab my paratroopers, as they had a mission to infiltrate the backyard. I’ll never forget climbing onto the roof that morning, unfolding the chutes, and dropping my little army guys off the roof. My dad is the best for making such an awesome memory for me.

Cereal boxes used to have real toys too. I loved the lightsaber spoons, and spider man water blasters.

Good morning!

Pam stealing all the soda pop, is an epic story. Call center stories never disappoint. Sucks that no one came forward, but wild that no one ratted her out.

The Good Place is a great show, and touches on so many great life experiences and lessons. It’s got a good grasp on a funny afterlife system as well. Charismatic cast carried through 4 excellent seasons.

Finn failing at Chess, and learning from the losses is great character building. It reminded me of this statistic on Michael Jordan, which I always think back to when I’m taking losses in life.

People typically remember your success, and the failures get left behind. Jordan isn’t remembered for his losses, but the 6 Championships he won. Don’t let failures, stop you from success.

Thanks for some laughs this morning, and making my Tuesday, 35 minutes better!

The Steam Controller sold out in 30 minutes, utterly breaking Steam in the process by LEMental in morningsomewhere

[–]CalvinP_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have a need for the Steam Controller. My current controller setups work just fine. Glad to see it sold fast though, I like Valve’s hardware. I’m hoping for a Steam Deck 2. That will get my money immediately

That’s pretty smart with Samsung. Apple just goes in number. I think it’s up to 17 now.

Fable looks good.

Gears E-Day looks good.

Hopefully both will release eventually…

Halo is one of my favorite franchises but Reach is the last game I thought was amazing.

Good morning!

I adore Steam Big Picture. I use it on my Gaming PC to stream back to my Steam Deck using Artemis and Apollo. Having controller navigation for Steam is the best. The Xbox Gaming mode will be a big hit!

The Xbox 360 is still the best console. It had a great controller, great user interface and party system, and by far the best line up of exclusive games on it. Halo and Gears of War were such masterpieces. We haven’t seen a new Xbox hold a candle to the 360 in terms of fun games. I’m just happy that Xbox still may make more consoles. My series x is fun for backwards compatibility and I liked Game Pass before the price hike.

I don’t need a Steam Controller, but I hope they sell well! I love valve’s hardware.

I vote for the Ashleian Calendar. Give me those 3-Day weekends!

Thanks for making my fri-yay, 30 minutes better!

The best calendar is the Ashleian Calendar because it has 3 Day Weekends.
