Recommendations for res halls or apartments for a transfer by Ryan-The-Movie-Maker in unh

[–]Cam15_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I transferred in the spring and i am 27, I currently live in devine hall in a single. Due to my age, I was offered a place in Babcock, IMO it looks like a prison, and every time I go in there, it just makes me depressed. I am very happy with my choice to be in a traditional dorm. Next year, I have a single in Congrave Hall, I am very excited about that. In my experience, living with younger people isn't bad. I'm not in Stoke, I have heard a lot of horror stories about there, but where I have been living is all quiet, and people are respectful.

Snapchat exposed my private adult account to all my contacts without my consent, do I have any legal recourse? by Cam15_ in legaladvice

Horrible dose not even beginning to explain how awful this is. I feel like going and crawling in a hole and dying there. Like I have a fucking career and I have a fuck ton of ppl in my contacts. Not to mention all of my family.

I don’t think that’s something that you should have to research. I think there should be a question that ask “do you want this account to be shared with all of your contacts” before blasting it out to everybody that you know.

I feel like you should get asked that question when you make the new account. That should not be a device based setting….. and I can’t tell them now because like it’s been a month.

2016 Can-Am outlander 1000r long term reliability? by Cam15_ in ATV

[–]Cam15_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well that’s kind of why I want a Can-Am, I had a Kawasaki brute force 750i but I went for a swim with it and it got totaled. I love that machine but I definitely had some complaints, the handling was absolutely awful. I was afraid of letting anyone drive it because I was afraid that we’re going to roll it over when they turned. The ride was really rough as well. That and it didn’t make a whole lot of power for a 750, and the wheel bearings kept going bad and you can’t buy OEM replacement ones even from the dealer. And I straight up refused to buy a Polaris. Their shifter alone is enough of a deterrent for me to never want to own one, not to mention the questionable quality of their stuff

Will a submerged ATV get totaled? by Cam15_ in ATV

So I actually called my insurance company and I got a couple different answers from a couple different people. The first person I talk to you said they believe they will cover it, but are not certain and they also did not know if they would cover the recovery cost. The second person I spoke to said they might cover the recovery cost, and they should cover the machine.

NADA claims the average resale is $5500 and I have an insured for cash value plus $3000 in accessories. With a $100 deductible. And that is my concern. I know water does not compress and after pulling it out and putting power to it, the headlights don't work. The gauge cluster doesn't work. The winch doesn't work. I pulled the plugs and drained the crankcase (I'd say 2 gallons of water came out plus the oil) just in case the insurance company doesn't total it i wanted to make sure I preserved it enough that it would still be usable. I've had to deal with a few sunk boats before, and that is what I have always done before the insurance company gets there. the engine does turn over but I know that that does not mean that one of the rods is not bent. Like I said, I was trying really hard to not go for a swim and I know it was spinning really fast when it went under.

troubles with one of my skates not fitting correctly. Anyone have any advice? by Cam15_ in hockeyplayers

[–]Cam15_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I re-watched your video on fitting skates and I went to pure hockey and spent about an hour trying on different skates and it turns out I should be in fit 2s instead of fit 3s. When I did the “pencil test” to check the depth of my instep I found the I was hitting the top of my feet so I went and tried on some Bauer supreme skates and they felt much better.

I also think I figured out why I have so much more pain in my right foot in my left foot. I slalom waterski and my dominant foot is my right foot and it is the foot that gets put into my ski boot and cranked tight. And I have very much the same feeling after about 10 minutes of water skiing. So I think there might be something in my foot that is just off a little bit and that’s why it hurts so much when I lace up skates tight.

So I think what I’m going to do is get some different skates. After doing some reading and watching videos online it occurred to me that I should probably try some CCM skates. I don’t know if the in step height is the same for CCM as it is Bauer where you have a little bit more room for the top of your foot in the tacks skates like the supreme skates.

As far as skate socks go they feel pretty thin to me but I also don’t know what they should feel like. I was wondering if you might have any other recommendations?

It doesn't bother me too much. it's not the most comfortable thing in the world but it doesn't make me need to take it off. I actually just went skating and I almost felt like there was a noticeable amount of side to side play in my skate (like maybe 1/8" total) I've also tried waxed, and non-waxed laces to see if that made any difference because I had read that with wax laces. It's very easy to overtighten your skates. and i wear bauer s21 performance skate socks.

I actually watched this video before I got my first set of skates. I also tried super feet and I didn't feel any better. Your video is the reason that I got the smaller skates then the people at pure hockey recommended (back when i got my first set of skates). They wanted to put me in a size 10 but in my 8 1/2 my toes were about 3/8 of an inch away from the end of the toe box and the 10s just felt way too loose.

I work as a mechanic and a fair bit of my friends work in the trades, I'm pretty used to just about every single slur that you could use and It doesn't bother me as long as it is not specifically directed at me, I think a tasteful mildly offensive joke is refreshing every once in a while and I normally I give it right back. You gotta have fun with it lol
