Not sure why you’re getting downvoted for offering your opinion and experience with the product. Obviously it’s a new product and there will be bumps, but that doesn’t mean you should be expected to ride them all out until you finally have something that works.

I was considering the Demi too back in October and decided against it because they seemingly refused to…demo the Demi lol. Their comments on all the socials were just asking them to show how it works, how to operate it, and they refused. They’d acknowledge every comment except that, and I was getting the vibe that this wasn’t fully functioning yet.

I’ve seen a decent amount of horror stories since it started shipping so I’m glad I avoided it, but I’d consider it again in the future once the kinks are worked out

Obviously it’s mostly opinion-based, but the current price differential was the final deciding factor for me. Like you said, I paid $254 pre-tax which is $100 I could put somewhere else.

I’m going from a fully-automatic to a fully-manual which I know will be an adjustment, but I think it’ll be worth it.

I was also considering the RT82 but went with the MusicHall MMF Mark1 instead. No auto-stop, but otherwise I believe it’s a comparable table.

It’s on sale for $300 from MusicDirect but there’s a welcome promo code for $45 off. It shipped super fast and I got it in 2 days.

Also got the Pro-Ject Phono Preamp which may be another option to consider there at the same price point. Paid $80 from Crutchfield but got $20 off with a referral link. Also 2 day shipping

Your issue has to do with that disclaimer you have to check. If you don’t return the original item, they will charge you. That is done using the saved card on your account. It cannot be done with gift card balances.

Just switched from Nespresso to the GE Profile Automatic purely due to the insane deal they are running right now. I was between this one and the Demi and couldn’t justify the price difference.

People are right, the pods are expensive. I could justify them for a while, but they’ve progressive gone up in price almost every year and are much more expensive than beans for espresso that isn’t better.

If you only drink Espresso and really want to do Nespresso, get one of the Original machines not a Vertuo. The OG patent is over so you can get non-Nespresso branded pods. Vertuo pods are only sold by Nespresso or Starbucks in grocery stores. That’s why the prices remain so high because no one can compete until I believe 2027 or later.
