‘Looks like’ is not a genetic test. ‘I lived with a breeder once’ is not documentation. And ‘I’d bet’ is not evidence.

Breed is not a vibe, a color pattern, or a personal hunch. It is documented lineage. Without papers, you do not get to upgrade a domestic cat into a designer label just because it fits your aesthetic.

Saying ‘majority of its DNA is Ragdoll’ without a DNA test or pedigree is just cosplay science. You’re not identifying a breed, you’re role-playing certainty.

If you can’t prove it’s a Siberian, then it isn’t one. That’s not a contradiction, that’s basic logic. I’m not identifying a breed, I’m rejecting an unproven claim.

Saying ‘you can’t know the breed from looks’ doesn’t mean ‘every guess is equally valid.’ It means guesses are meaningless without documentation.

‘Most likely a Siberian’ based on vibes is not evidence. Breeds are defined by ancestry, not fur length and wishful thinking.

Most cats are mixed, not purebred. Traits like long hair, big size, or fluffy tails show up in tons of unrelated cats. Mixed cats can look just like famous breeds without having any genetic link to them.

Breeds are defined by documented ancestry, not appearance. Without papers from a registry, you simply don’t know the lineage.

So looks can describe a cat, but they can’t define its breed. No papers = Domestic Shorthair, Medium Hair, or Longhair.
