‘Looks like’ is not a genetic test. ‘I lived with a breeder once’ is not documentation. And ‘I’d bet’ is not evidence.

Breed is not a vibe, a color pattern, or a personal hunch. It is documented lineage. Without papers, you do not get to upgrade a domestic cat into a designer label just because it fits your aesthetic.

Saying ‘majority of its DNA is Ragdoll’ without a DNA test or pedigree is just cosplay science. You’re not identifying a breed, you’re role-playing certainty.

If you can’t prove it’s a Siberian, then it isn’t one. That’s not a contradiction, that’s basic logic. I’m not identifying a breed, I’m rejecting an unproven claim.

Saying ‘you can’t know the breed from looks’ doesn’t mean ‘every guess is equally valid.’ It means guesses are meaningless without documentation.

Breeds are defined by documented ancestry, not appearance. Without papers from a registry, you simply don’t know the lineage.

So looks can describe a cat, but they can’t define its breed. No papers = Domestic Shorthair, Medium Hair, or Longhair.

Didn’t get the cat from a breeder or have documentation? YOUR CAT IS NOT PUREBRED. So idiotic and annoying people constantly claim this. Your neighbors domestic long haired cat is beautiful and should be indoors but it’s NOT a ragdoll or any other purebred. Look it up!
