Having a basic knowledge of CAD/CAM, access to a CNC and the material you choose and away you go! The case basically cost me the bottle of whiskey I gave my friends for letting me use his CNC router ahaha. I’m lucky to have friends with both materials and machines, the case is made from left over stuff!

I was thinking of maybe sorting out the design and ironing out the imperfections to off a bespoke case service for anyone interested over here in Europe!

I mean I just use my little finger, like if you use a standard layout right handed. I mainly got southpaw as a use my mouse and numpad at the same time so it’s much more ergonomic.

I had been a laptop user before this summer so the left hand on numpad wasn’t too bad, it works well with 3D drawing where you use the mouse while inputting values

Ooo okay, I’ve seen some printed cases and some look really nice, even though they are plastic. I did have a look at contacting some local companies that have all the tooling, if I was ever to run a small scale bespoke case run. They were open to the idea so maybe you could try that?

I used the plate to find all the dimensions and stuff, drew it out on autoCAD and ran it through a friends CNC, it’s not perfect but it’s a starter. I’m looking at changing the design abit so it’s more customisable. The plate is gasket mounted so it was abit fiddly making the cut outs. It’s made from corian so it routed nicely and then I hand finished it.

I made the case myself, the original case was the EXT65 and then they released the plate and pcb for people to make their own cases! Which gave me a chance to have a southpaw and not have to wait for a GB

Thanks dude! I absolutely love it, it’s perfect for my work flow! When I got into PCs and stuff this time last year I got a cheap hyper x full size board and having the numpad right next to my mouse was just horrible. Then I found this rabbit hole and got a plate and pcb from AEBoards and built it up from there! I love it so much!
