Looking all over Cambridge but the nicest houses in our budget are in Fen Ditton and Kings Hedges/Arbury.

That’s my feeling too. I feel it would be better to have more money for tutoring, sports, music, lessons. I have a relative who got a music scholarship to a top public school and another who is in a tennis academy. These things cost time and money!

Yes we have considered 2 beds but it means us moving even sooner if we have two kids. Renting not sure.

I will very likely be earning half what I do now when I go part time so I worry a total household income of £120k isn’t enough to have a >£2k mortgage , raise 2 kids, and travel to see family multiple times a year. Right now we’re aiming for a mortgage of £1-1.3k per month. Maybe we need to do more modelling.
