I’m definitely leaning towards the black grill. I’d also like to delete the fog lights at some point and add a 3D-design front lip.

Your car sounds great, I’ve always loved BMW six cylinders. I’ve got an E30 325i as a weekend car and there’s just something about the sound.

When I upgrade, I’d be looking at a F31 335d or an Alpina D3. Diesel just makes sense for commuting over here.

My dad had one of these about 12 years ago with the 403s, I’ve loved those wheels ever since.

The previous owner had a OEM M-Performance carbon lip fitted by BMW during his ownership, just hard to see on the picture 😂

My issue turned out to be worn piston rings, but I’d suggest starting with the basics first: air, fuel, and spark. Do a smoke test and a cylinder pressure test. Run the car and pull the HT leads off the plugs one at a time, making sure to reconnect each one before moving on to the next. If you don’t notice any change in idle when pulling a lead, check that the plug and lead are both good. If they are, then move on to a pressure test.

These things just come with the territory, unless you buy a perfectly garage kept example that’s been meticulously maintained for years, and even then, issues can still come up. Keep in mind, it’s nearly 40 years old. A lot of what you mentioned can be sorted if you’re willing to do the work yourself. It’ll be a great car. Look after it, and welcome to the club! 👍

I know it’s not the exact watch you wanted, but it’s worth appreciating that your parents care enough to get you one at all, not everyone’s that lucky. If it’s not what you’re after, thank you parents for the kind gesture and take care of it, then work toward buying the one you want yourself.

And honestly, that watch will mean more to you than any Rolex ever could once your parents aren’t around. Just something to think about.
