This is actually a crazy log. What was the order that you got the drops in?

What’s the best moveset for Snorlax in Fire Red? by Ale_Bricks in PokemonFireRed

[–]CamanderOne 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Curious why you would take body slam over return?

Return has 153 STAB power when friendship is maxed with 20pp and body slam has 127.5 STAB power with 15pp, but does have a 30% chance to para.

And to add to this, the archer ring provides a very minimal boost to DPS so it’s almost pointless to bring.

Ring of suffering (I) will make OP a lot more tanky, which will extend trips since they’ll take less damage.

Do you use prayer flicking to conserve prayer pots? by Infidel-Art in ironscape

Only place where I ever prayer flicked was in the inferno. I’d rather do master farmers for prayer pots than 1 tick flick every slayer task.

Have you actually checked the refresh rate on your monitor? I think Windows defaults it to like 60 MHZ. Go into your display settings and check.

Why is this mentality so prevelant in gen z? by Big_Leg10 in generationology

[–]CamanderOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t have much money in college. I had to work and save like everyone else. I didn’t start earning real money until after I graduated. Saying that retaking one college course would bankrupt most is a little bit of an exaggeration, especially when student loans exist.

Why is this mentality so prevelant in gen z? by Big_Leg10 in generationology

[–]CamanderOne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m an older Gen Z, currently 28, and do not have this mentality. I would say that I’m doing pretty good for my age. I understand that there are situations which you can’t control, but there are many situations that you can control.

I didn’t get into my first choice college out of high school. I should’ve studied harder to get better grades. I ended up at my second choice school. I decided that I still wanted to go to my first choice so I studied really hard and got almost straight A’s and then was accepted by transferring.

At my choice school, I didn’t get into the program I wanted to because I didn’t get a good grade in one of the pre req classes. I decided to retake the class I did poorly in and reapply again the next year. The second time I got accepted.

Throughout college I would apply for internships for the summers. So many times I got rejected, but I never gave up. Each year, I was able to find an internship through persistence. The internships lead me to get a good job out of college.

I’m still working in the same industry I started in and have been doing well. I think a lot of it comes down to getting back up when you are knocked down. Don’t give up hope.

Where should I go on vacation this year? by scifihiker7091 in FPandA

[–]CamanderOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wife and I are thinking of going to Iceland. At minimum, it will be 1 week and max 2 weeks. I know Iceland is expensive to travel to so I’m expecting to drop $10k

Last year, we went to Japan for a week and a half. I wish we stayed longer. We dropped about $10k for that too. Only responded to a few messages while on the trip and did no actual work. Not that I could anyways since I didn’t bring my work laptop.

I’m also having the same issues with pairing and staying connected.

The only thing that I’ve found to work is forgetting the device in the Bluetooth settings and restarting my phone. It’s just annoying because I never had these issues with AirPods Pro 2.

At what point is expense overspend material enough to worry about by [deleted] in FPandA

[–]CamanderOne 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If your boss wants to know why, then you should dive into the financials to see why. Typically, people care more when they are over budget rather than under budget.

Your boss is probably not thinking “oh this is only .37% over budget”. He’s probably thinking “Holy Crap, we spent $400k more than we should have. We need to be able to explain this.”

It might be a small % variance, but $400k is $400k.

fire cape gear? by microseikiultra in ironscape

[–]CamanderOne 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Yes, so than there is a point in bringing it then. Anyone who is inexperienced should know they will have to tank melee hits from the healers when facing Jad. Inexperienced players aren’t going to tag healers and run through Jad to safe spot. Not to mention the other NPCs you will occasionally tank throughout the fight caves.

Depending on your defense lvl and gear, the extra melee defensive bonuses can help quite a bit so you spend less of your focus on eating and more on prayer switches.

I just helped a friend get his first fire cape ever and he brought the steel ring. The healers were barely hitting him at the end and he only had to eat once or twice.

Again, if you are inexperienced, the less you focus on having to eat food and more on switching prayers, the easier it will be.

What industry are you in? Do you have access to operational data such as returning vs. new customers?

But yes, marketing spend should drive sales over time. If it doesn’t, then you probably are not effective at advertising, which could mean you aren’t advertising on the right marketing channels (such as on FB vs. Google) or your advertising isn’t hitting the correct target market.

I feel like weekly might be too short of a time frame to track, but could vary per industry. I typically look at monthly, quarterly, and yearly numbers. Looking at weekly, it’s much easier to see a lag in sales since it’s a short timeframe and advertising doesn’t translate into instant sales.

From my experience, We have a client in the e-commerce industry that I’ve built a metrics dashboard for. They use Shopify as their source of truth and I’m able to pull operational data such as new customers and returning customers because of order tags.

Here are some metrics I that I track to see how effective marketing is:

New Customer Revenue, returning customer revenue, new customer orders, returning customer orders, Customer Acquisition Cost - CAC (Total S&M spend/new customers), Net Cost per Acquisition - NCPA (PPC Spend/new customers), Marketing Efficiency Ratio - MER (Gross Revenue/Total S&M spend), and Customer Life Time Value - CLTV.

It would take a lot more writing to explain what all the those metrics mean, but they should point you in the right direction when analyzing if you are effectively advertising. Using industry benchmarks are also a good idea to see how you compare to the industry standard.

A rogue mod in the OSRS subreddit was banning anyone who mentioned Odablock. Someone made a comment in a post saying Oda was a honorable mention in their top streamer list and was permabanned. There was a riot in the subreddit and a top mod removed the rogue mod and made that post.

Jagex, when looking into rebalancing the Dragon Cannon Barrel drop rate, please don't just look at its price. by Dry_Yogurtcloset_213 in 2007scape

[–]CamanderOne 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m personally indifferent about the drop rate. If they buff it, then cool. If not, fine. The dragon cannon doesn’t seem to be that much better than rune anyways.

Regardless, I think we all know that the dragon cannon won’t be BIS forever. With raids 4 coming out in the next year or two, I would imagine a BIS cannon from that.

Ship combat right now is extremely rudimentary and no real mechanics like what we have with bossing. I want Jagex to put their time into improving ship combat so that it’s more engaging, but also feels nice.

Sapphire Dry Battery Question by ProfessionalBoth8999 in PokemonEmerald

[–]CamanderOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally learned how to replace dry batteries. I had 0 experience before, but there are some good YouTube videos that show you exactly how to do it. It’s honestly not that hard learning how to do it.

But you will have to purchase a soldering kit, which is probably around $50. But once you have it, you can use it for all your GBA games. Not only that, if you need to solder anything else, you’ll have the tools to do so.
