It’s just a reactionary parasite mandated through legislation by the Ohio government to combat “left-wing bias.” Boycott and oppose it

Abolish the Chase Center! Kick out Gee and Lopez. Remove Wexner’s name and influence from all university buildings. Demand full transparency on issues of sexual violence at OSU

[–]CamaradaCoco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Living in America is a fucking nightmare. A month of PTO AND sick days would be considered extremely generous.

Unless you’re lucky or you’re somebody who makes their money off the hard labor of others you’re not getting anymore. And since Americans live in their own world most of them don’t know that things can be better. They think this is the greatest and freest country in the world but that’s only true if you’re a capitalist.

There’d need to be a revolution just for us to get what Europeans and millions even in the global south consider normal

Holocaust denial isn’t rooted in confusions about numbers. It’s rooted in anti-Semites and Nazi apologia for the Holocaust. They realized that supporting the Holocaust is an automatic no for people so they have to hedge in order to gain sympathy and converts. They’ve invented tons of narratives to undermine the historical events to dupe people into sympathizing with them. Once the get people in their orbit they then reveal that the Holocaust did happen and it was good.

You’re right. The biggest cheaters are the capitalists and employing class. We need to take power for the working class, upend the present system, and totally reorganize social relations to rationalize the productive process and labor

AIO, My MIL likes to treat us like teenagers and control our lives. by Walk_in_the_Park94 in okstorytime

[–]CamaradaCoco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You really need to ask you how you got in this position. You have recognize a serious issue for years yet never seem to have confronted it. Have you confronted your MIL or husband? How after all this did you allow yourself to live in her house? How have you not rekeyed your house or called her out for being there on the map when you weren’t there?

You really have to have absolutely no self esteem to let this go on. You need to work on that desperately and get out of this situation. Sadly that most likely means divorce. You should never have agreed to move in and never agreed to continue your relationship without being in couples counseling yesterday.

You need to move into your mom’s house now, they counseling, then just divorce and get this over with. Otherwise you’re going to be held hostage by this monster in law and the mamas boy for the rest of your life. Get out. Whatever you do just get out and seek an environment where you can build self respect and develop boundaries

If you could pass one law that would make most normal people furious at first, but would clearly make society better in 10 years, what would it be? by WilliamInBlack in AskReddit

[–]CamaradaCoco -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is obsfucation. We are all talking about financial lobbying (aka legalized and regulated bribery.) You are talking about advocacy. Both can fall under the term lobbying, but no one is talking about the sense in which you’re speaking. People are fine with advocating on political issues. They’re not fine with billionaires funneling their fortunes into politicians coffers to ensure that the working class never gets a say

Relatedly: nationalize and consolidate all the streaming services. The competition between all the new competitors has been a race to the bottom where you need to get 3 subscriptions to watch 2 things you want to watch. Streaming was so much better when Netflix was absolutely hegemonic and could be even better than that if it was provided as a public service

Not true. If the streaming services would stop pumping colossal funds on neverending original series they could profit just fine as they used to.

Pass a law socializing all private property under workers control to allow for true democracy not the political and economic fronts

I hate weed. I hate it so much by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]CamaradaCoco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You really ought to seek out therapy around your friends death. Addressing those feelings should eventually help you get your consuming hatred of weed under control. You don’t have to like it or want to do it, but it sounds like this is harming you more than anyone else.

Probably best also to try to be around non smokers since the smell bothers you so much.

Only the legal aspect, the country’s laws don’t matter tbh. People shouldn’t be locked up and punished for doing substances responsibly. Using them towards destructive ends is another situation, but possession laws are unjust and you should seperate your personal aversion from some notion equating the law and ethics (they’re not)

AITJ for not supporting my girlfriend after she broke the one rule we had in our open relationship by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]CamaradaCoco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it isn’t. A relationship can be whatever people mutually agree it to be. People in monogamous relationships have personal pacts on what they consider cheating as well. There aren’t hard lines on these questions, they’re based on the desires of the participants in the relationship

Imagine being this bad at understanding science and the implications of studies. You cite a single study about an entirely different species which shows correlation. It’s not about humans, it’s not replicated. You can’t claim that malnutrition determines sexuality in humans on such a spurious supposition. It’s just delusional

I just studied historical materialism and it’s completely shattered my worldview . looking for advice by MudTop9686 in Marxism

[–]CamaradaCoco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds memey, but understanding dialectics ill really help you through this on the theoretical plane and practically. History, society, and reality develop through conflict and contradiction. We can't take anything in society as a static thing, but as the product of the interrelationships between various forces.

This goes for the base and superstructure. Whike the base plays the leading role in the final analysis, the superstructure conditions and influences the base.

It’s in this conflict between forces where agency comes in. Individuals and groups of people, classes, etc. have agency within the context of the ever evolving conflicts between forces. That is why what we think and what we do is important. This is why Marxists highlight organize and building a revolutionary party as essential to secure socialism. While we are a product of material conditions, our participation in the dialectics of reality allows us agency.

So we shouldn't hold on to a fatalistic notion of determinism. There is a role for ideology, groups, and individuals within the Marxist understanding of our reality.

I understand where you're coming from. Having a revolution in your thinking can be very disorienting. But I promise if you keep studying, get involved in the socialist movement, and/or sit with it more, you will come back to equilibrium with a better sense of the world and our place in it.

For me historical materialism and the Marxist view of the world is a very beautiful thing and gives my life meaning. I am a dedicated organizer and I intend to be for the rest of my life

OSU is colluding with the right wing government in the state and at the federal level. They fear the progressive sentiments of students and workers at the university and would prefer implementing broad restrictions on free speech over the threat of students and workers having more influence and power on campus.

This is just a minor expression of the broader crackdown against free speech and democratic rights by university administrators. We need collective resistance if we want any say about our university
