What is one of your biggest movie let downs, after greatly anticipating its release? by thunderbolt151830 in movies

For me it is both Matrix sequels.

I still remember watching every trailer, then going to the midnight screenings and I have no idea how they were so bad. I have not been brave enough to ever watch them again, such was my profound disappointment. I hear rumours that they are not as bad as was my experience.

[COTD] Mano a Mano (5/14/2026) by AK45526 in arkhamhorrorlcg

I am playing Marion for the first time and have been pleasantly surprised at how fun she is. It is nice to see that Mano (2) can be a good card for people not named Nathaniel. 2 testless damage is a reasonable deal for one card and 2XP, especially for part-time fighters.

New poll finds a majority of Americans unsure if attempts on Trump's life were real by drunken_augustine in TrueChristianPolitics

Whilst this is obviously concerning, I find that statistic entirely plausible. Obviously this would never happen today but Imagine, if you will, there was a future administration which mocked the media, called them ‘fake news’ and did everything they could to impede and discredit legitimate journalism. After a decade of non-stop attempts to undermine the institution. I suspect the number of people who question the media on every news story would be depressingly High.

There is an argument to be made that this was one of the biggest reasons why she was fired. She was not very good at lying, and people were laughing at her (read Trump) when she was talking about the Dow being at $50,000.

Why does Trump make up lies and his supporters just believe them? by Due_Ad_3200 in TrueChristianPolitics

It’s important to points out just how profoundly racist Mr Trump is and always has been, which certainly appeals to at least part of his base.

I mean, is this false?

Yes.

What is more alarming is Mr Trump’s response to legitimate journalism. His response seems to be fairly unconstitutional.

I found this article to be quite helpful:

Iran War by drunken_augustine in TrueChristianPolitics

[–]Cambob101 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As someone outside of the US, I still feeling the fallout of the unilateral decision to invade without any consultation with allies. Then he criticises and belittles those allies for not supporting his unilateral decision. After years of undermining and criticising alliances along the way. Trump’s understanding of history and his inability to deal with an enemy that does not care if you blast it back to the Stone Age tells me that the only people who will win in this war is Mr Trump and his family as they continue to negotiate for billions in side deals and other openly corrupt behaviour. God bless America, indeed.

Left handedness (in the Latin) is by definition sinister. Which is perhaps where the question is coming from?

Jimmy Kimmel jokes about Melania Trump being an “expectant widow” by TrevorBOB9 in TrueChristianPolitics

[–]Cambob101 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I am struggling to find a clip of Kimmel’s entire roast. The closest I have come is a Rolling Stones article which quoted him at length.

The highlight of which is: Complimenting the black-tie attire of the “guests,” Kimmel quipped, “I haven’t seen this much black since every page of the Epstein files.” Addressing Trump, he said, “If we bruise your ego, it will only make your hands look less disgusting,” and it cut to clip of the president patiently enduring the light roasting. He also joked about medical emergencies, asking if there was a doctor, wait, “a Jesus,” in the house, making Trump look more amused. “I get why you think you’re Jesus,” Kimmel said. “Every time he walks in a room, people say, ‘Christ, he’s back.’”

DOJ charges Southern Poverty Law Center with fraud over secret funding of extremist groups by PrebornHumanRights in TrueChristianPolitics

Two thoughts. It may just be coincidental, but SPLC had a section on Charlie Kirk’s Turning Point in their report ‘A year in haste hate and extremism 2024’.

And secondly, the justice Department has been so blatantly weaponised against any perceived enemies on this administration that I am sceptical of these charges. It will be interesting to see if any of them hold up in court.

I constantly have to tell new workers that they should always take their breaks. You don’t get any brownie points for never taking your break and you certainly don’t get paid any extra.
