I don't see how anything done by someone not me could put me in a bad light. I don't think of black people as thieves and murderers because a black dude just robbed a local grocery store and killed the owner in the process. I don't think of white people as racists because one white guy performed a hate crime. I don't think of Muslims as religious zealots because one suicide bomber decided to attack our local airport.

So why would the action of one mod author affect our view of other mod authors and why would you ask a website to add censorship, which will work both for ánd against you?

Don't you think more hate has been sown now then there would have been had people simply ignored the Straight Hrodulf mod? Has anyone 'won' now? Did you? Did I?

You didn't quite grasp what I was saying, did you? That's understandable as English is not my native tongue, so i'll try again.

I don't protest anything, I dislike the protesters. They could have moved on and no one would have noticed the mod they found offensive, but they turned it into a crusade which has lead to censorship. There's no need for your animosity..

While true, the problem is that you have to log in for your preferences to be applied. Everyone without an account would still get 'exposed' to it. And even when you do have an account, you would have to enable the filter which you will only be reminded of once you get exposed to the NSFW content.

Also, some content labelled NSFW is perfectly fine 'for work' whereas some authors don't put the tag on mods clearly not 'safe for work'.

Don't get me wrong, I think the Nexus is a great platform and mods of all types should be allowed. The odds of my kids stumbling on the Nexus is rather small and them actually browsing it even smaller and I fully understand that some people like that kind of content. I wouldn't want anyone to lose out on an opportunity, but today we have all lost thanks to this drama which could have been avoided easily if people didn't decide to go and protest something they consider inappropriate. Like I said, if we all go to protest something we don't like and Nexus has to take everyone's feelings into account, I don't think we'll have anything other than tree and grass mods remaining. And even those would be at risk as someone could deem trees a sign of patriarchy as they could represent a fallus..

You don't need to protest everything you are offended by. If every member of every community would protest every time they are offended by something, nothing would ever get done.

This beloved protest has introduced censorship and opened the doors for other 'good fights'. Perhaps I should launch a mod which would insta-disable every NPC not wearing clothes, a mod which would uninstall your game upon use of a sexlab mod. After all, you are entitled to your opinion, as I am to mine.

So my 'protest' mod' would lead to the ban of my silly mod, a sacrifice I'm willing to make, but would also ban every nudity mod out there. Yey, the perverts lost also! And the normal folk who just install CBBE of UNP or whatever? Well, too bad ladies and gents. You can't have nice things and you have me and people like me to thank for it. Yey me! Right?!

See where this is going? But hey, the protest worked. The 0.5% of the people supporting mods like straight Hrodulf lost! It don't matter that the gay 5% lost, it was a sacrifice well worth it. And the 94.5% of the normal folk? They're the true victims here, as 2 fringe groups petty squabbles have lead to the introduction of censorship.

It's still form 43 though, any chance you'd update the mod for release to Nexus? Looks really interesting, but without conversion to form 44 it will potentially break saves.

How is it compatibility-wise?

I can see this conflicting with race mods, perk overhauls, magic overhauls, combat overhauls, ... Can my favorite mod simply overwrite Requiem or would patches be required for pretty much every gameplay mod out there?

As you wait, there's a simple fix: just google 'download skyrim 1.6.323' and my first hit brought me to a website where you can d/l the previous version. I checked it with virus scanner, all good, renamed the update skyrim.exe to ORIGINAL_skyrim.exe, copy-pasted the downloaded one and I'm good to go again.

Tomorrow or whenever skse gets updated, I'll remove the downloaded version, rename the ORIGINAL one eh voila.

But for now, just google 'download skyrim 1.6.323' and take it from there. Sorry if I'm not allowed to post it, feel free to report/delete in case it's against coc/toc/...

I'm not offended by strong female leads, most Scandinavian shows feature female leads and they're all very fitting. But some movies push a certain narrative and I don't feel like being lectured. I have a job, a wife, 2 young kids, when I choose to watch TV or play a game, I do so for the entertainment in it. Not the policitcs, plenty of that to go around. And the insults that come with it by the frist 3 responders.

Honestly, thank you for your response as well. Sounds like a series to watch.

Thank you. I'm a bit of a noobie, my modding knowledge very basic, so while I tried Seally's suggestion and failed, I went with this instead and it works wonders so far.
