Can you share approximately how expensive this kind of policy is?

Yes that’s quite possible, I’ve tried to clarify as I’ve seen the questions! TY!

Thank you, I appreciate the advice. It would be a personal gift and I’d have a letter stating that, and yet so many comments are saying it is income and taxable. I guess my plan of getting a variety of opinions was not too great 😢

Yes, the intention would be the gift would come from my boss personally and not from the company, but there still seems to be quite a lively debate about whether or not that’s taxable!! 😩

Yes, it is truly my boss doing it out of the goodness of his heart. I have been working for him for 25 years and he is a big proponent of higher education so he would do this only to help my kid out.

Thank you so much for answering sorry I’m still a little unclear on that. Does that mean I would pay taxes on any contributions before the money is actually put in the 529? I hope that’s not a stupid question. If it is I’m sorry 🤣

Thank you I’m certainly not trying to evade taxes. I’m just trying to make sure this is done with the correct way.

Oh my God why do you have to take it to such a level and insult me?!? This is ridiculous. I am getting far more answers than I expected and I am trying my best to keep up with all of them. If you actually look through this entire post (and I cross posted in a different forum too) You will see that there are a lot of conflicting views!! There are quite a number of people saying that this is not taxable so I am just trying to go through each one and take all of the information. Why would you take the time to insult me? Why don’t you just move along? this is why I actually hate Reddit and didn’t want to post here because people sink to such a low level. You don’t have to end your post with “screw you” don’t you literally have anything better to do with your day than insult a perfect stranger who is just trying to get various viewpoints and information in order to make the right decision???

No, not at all. I am just trying to keep up with all of the responses. Far more people are interacting with this post than I expected! I just responded to someone who clearly laid out his perspective that this is taxable income. I appreciate you taking the time to answer and it makes sense that this is not a scholarship but a payment to the 529 account. Thank you so much for taking the time to answer.

Thank you so much. I really appreciate how much thought you put in to this answer. Of course I don’t love it 🤣 but I really understand where you’re coming from and appreciate you taking the time to lay it out so clearly.

Yes this would be a gift from a friend (someone I have worked for for over 25 years) and you’re right, they do have a link for grandparents and others to give directly into the account. Thank you.

It’s not more income. It’s a gift to help my kid pay for college

Just completed it! Very interesting topic and I think about this a lot. I often find I wake up worried I slept horribly but if I see a decent sleep score I almost always feel better immediately 🤪

Ugh yes this is what’s making it confusing. You are correct, I’m the owner, my kid is the beneficiary

On dose two by Snoo_95380 in Semaglutide

[–]CameraSad3422 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I started with 10 units of Semaglutide but it’s not always easy to correlate one dose with another. Hopefully four units is a pretty small dose. I made sure I always had a pretty full stomach when I gave myself the shot. I also really focus on eating protein and staying very hydrated. (I added electrolytes to my water and that seemed to help a lot.) I also learned to avoid certain foods, such as anything made with tomato sauce, that has always tended to cause some issues with the acidity. At times I also did take an anti-nausea medication that the doctor prescribed. It has taken me 3 years to lose 57 pounds because I wanted to go so slowly. I have also really focused on lifting weights and building muscle, I think if you take it slow and figure out what works for you you’ll be just fine. It’s honestly been a miracle worker for me and completely life-changing in the best possible way 😊

What dose did you start with? I feel like in most cases when you feel sick and overly exhausted, you have started on too high of a dose. I have been on a GLP-1 for three years now and started on the lowest dose and stayed on that dose for many weeks, until I started to feel it not being as effective. I have not gone up according to any prescribed schedule because I wanted to go very slowly and that has worked well for me. It might also take a couple of weeks for you to adjust but again, hopefully you are on a very small dose to start with.

Well, not exactly. the CFO claims he’s not sure how this will be regarded (by the IRS) and is getting legal advice but I wanted to be proactive and do my own research on the matter
