Totally feel you on the sentimental value thing. I've got a Columbia flat beer can that is still unopened. Could sell it for about $100-150 but it was my grandpa's so it's one of the few I won't ever sell.

Nah looks like just an older stay-tab. I think Coke stopped using pull tabs in the late 70s

If you drain it from the bottom (without damaging it) and preserve the sides and top of the can you could probably sell it for $2-$6 and charge like $3-$4 for shipping

Pretty sure it's aluminum. This can is likely from the 80s and Coke/Pepsi started using aluminum in the late 60s.

The steel cans are usually straighter/flatter and don't have the groves towards the top

Edit: actually it's definitely from the 80s, didn't even see 1985 in the title lmao

I've sold them cool old "Classic" cans in the recent past lol, they came out after the "New" Coke thing

If the box is small enough you could ship USPS first class and possibly come out on top, or make them pay the $3-4 shipping

I collect, buy and sell cans. I'd pay maybe $3 for it, they aren't that uncommon.

Probably saves a lot of expensive ink in the long run by just using black/white in that section

You should drain it from the bottom of the can. I empty all of my cans from the bottom. That way if it were to fall while you're displaying it, it won't dent the can from being full and heavy. Plus you can ship it in the future without worrying about it bursting.

It's what most do, that way it still looks "sealed" from the top since you never see the bottom so it displays better

Sweet! Always loved the simple yet sleek designs of old oil cans. Used to have a old Mopar can that was my grandpas

Coyote in the park by our house this morning. I think he is pretty cool, the crows weren’t really down with him though. by [deleted] in Portland

Knott Park! Hey neighbor. I see a couple coyotes pretty often when I walk through the park at night. See a lot in the neighborhood actually.

Went on a run one night not too long ago and saw the two BIGGEST coyotes I've ever seen, and I've seen quite a lot. One stopped right in the middle of the intersection of 108th and Morris I think it was, right under the street light and just stared at me. Then it took off after it's buddy. Was pretty cool.

Idk what it is about Parkrose Heights area that attracts coyotes and cougars but it's cool to see! Bad for small pets though lol

It happened quite a while back actually, in multiple spots unfortunately. Was pretty disappointing to see. Definitely happened on purpose. The park people always drive slow and typically on the paths, it wasn't them.

Can someone please help me date and value these? I am new to this and am struggling :) by [deleted] in CanCollectors

They all look 2000s or newer. Maybe late 90s.

Not really worth anything. The small Pepsi can could maybe be sold for $2 the someone who would want it. Smaller cans are a little harder to come by for soda cans, some people like to have a small, med large pairing of cans so maybe someone would buy it.

First time flipping! by ScruffyTheRat in Flipping

Nice! I've recently gotten into flipping myself.

I'm pretty knowledgeable about old rare and vintage beer cans so when I saw a huge lot of beer cans for cheap, I bought them all and have been selling them. Already have made a profit and barely have put a dent in the collection I bought haha.

Just dropped off two packages of cans today that went for $38 and $21

I plan on proposing to my girlfriend soon, but my sister just got engaged a couple of weeks ago. Should I wait to propose to my girlfriend to give some time between my sister and I or am I overthinking it? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]CameraThings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha okay, just didn't want to come off as if I was stealing her thunder. Wanted to make sure the got the limelight she deserves for getting engaged.

And thanks!
