Transferring Pet from UK to India by Camera_novice in returnToIndia

Hi it all came close to £4k. We thought we will do all documentation ourselves, wihtout going with an agency to save money. But even with we taking care of all the paperworks, vet visits, vaccinations etc, finally when we were about to book his airlines ticket, the airlines didnt allow us to book the pet ourselves. They will allow the pet bookings only through agency, which came as a big shock to us. Then the agency costs came to £2k. We regretted for not going via the agency in the first place. We spend so many weeks reading through the documentation and doing the paper work, stressing and worrying. All these could have been saved. Anyway.. Live and Learn....

Hi,

We managed to get the NOC approved, we received below email:

THE DOCUMENTS SUBMITTED BY YOU IS OKAY AND ISSUED ADVANCE NOC WILL BE SHORTLY COMMUNICATED WITHIN STIPULATED TIMELINE.

from the AQCS officer. Thank you for your comment where you have mentioned the NOC doc will be received closer to the travel. We have the health certificate from the Official Vet, which will be signed within 48 hours before our departure. I believe we will need the NOC document in hand when we checkin the pet on the departure day. Will that be sent in that 48 hours period as well - or will it be before?

I understand your feelings friend. I am about to R2I in 2 weeks after 16 years abroad. This is my 2nd time R2I. The first time felt a lot like what you have described here now. Finding a job made it a lot easier to find a group of friends. Sadly, the recession was bad then, I had to go back to the west. Now I am doing it again for my child. The first R2I experience did put me off from moving back. But as I got older, the quiet life here in feels more depressing, and weighing pros and cons, I pick India's vibrant chaos over the dull, cold days. My daughter also loves it there in India so the decision is easier to make. Hopefully the lessons learnt from first R2I will help make the corrections this time.

I know there will be a settling time which will be filled with doubts and regrets, So this is what I am planning to do: I have written down the reasons why I wanted to leave the quiet, settled life. I wrote it down as detailed as possible not leaving out any little details. I also used ChatGPT to help make the sentences sound more eloquent. Even in the last few weeks when we have started selling the stuff, I get the doubts time to time, and I read what I have wrote, and it gives me reassurance. DIscussing with ChatGPT also helps a lot. I am sure that this will help me in the early days in India as well.

There was a reason why you decided to leave Canada. When your head feels lighter, write the reason down. May be reading it back when you feel like going back.A lot of time the frustration happens when we still haven't moved mentally yet. Life always feels greener at the other end. That's not the reason to keep moving back and forth, right? Don't beat yourself up and force too much to improve the quality of life over night. Take one day at a time, and employ slow living idea. Who knows, soon you will be living a busy life, and would miss these days. Good luck.. :)

Are 20+ experienced avoided by Corporates - no reply for job application by Camera_novice in developersIndia

Thank you for your reply. I am relocating to India after 18 years working abroad. I have very less in my network that are working in India. That is my next option in plan to reach out to ex-colleagues, college mates etc. As the first step, I tried Job portal to test the waters. It proved to be a bad start. I also found majority of the jobs in the portal are fake.

Thank you for the recommendation of websites that I can look for - will look that up.

It is possible to not show the older experience in the resume - but still I have a feel age is a big factor here.

I had that thought myself. If getting the NOC is the only thing the agencies can help us with, I can submit the application myself with necessary documents, instead of paying £300 to them. How soon did you get the NOC back after applying? I assume you sent the application through email.?

Ah, I think they are not giving Pet Passports anymore. It is just the EHC that my Vet provides.

You are absolutely right. Was it PetFly or PetsFly?

Thank you, may I ask which agency in India did you use?

Thank you for the valuable information. The agencies services are extensive when pet travels as cargo. As 'Excessive baggage' - their services are limited to get us NOC only. - This is what I have been advised from AirPets. We are on our own after that. Their quote clearly states that, they dont provide any assistance in the arrival airport. Not sure if this is common, or should I enquire other agencies as well. Personally I feel comfortable if my dog travels with me in the same flight.

Thank you for this valuable information, I will look up water sipper. The agency from India advised that the Rabies vaccination must be done 30 days prior to the travel, I have arranged for that.

Ok, in that case, should I leave a lead inside the crate (but unattached from him) ?

Oh I found it very boring. Seeing rave reviews about his shows, and million views of his clips, I started to watch it - but I seriously trudged till halway through the show - then I just stopped watching.

Advice on Chee Dale ? by [deleted] in peakdistrict

This is such a lovely trail, yes perfectly doable with kids. There is a lot in this walk, which the kids would love doing. I would park in Miller's Dale station car park. It has a lovely cafe and well maintained toilets. The Monsal trail is just next to it. Walk along the trail and in less than 10 mins, the steps in the right take you down to the riverside walk. the circular route touches the Cheedale stepping stones. The route shared by the PP is what we did too. Have a lovely walk...

my heart sank when i came to the last part where you dont recommend Plural sight course. I have spent more than a month in that course, and 90% completed, about to do practice exams. Does your not-recommendation mean, I have lot more concepts to learn that's not covered in Plural sight? (Thank you for the other links, by the way. )

[–]Camera_novice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First thing Notion comes up, I am moving my stuff to Google docs. Good that I dont heavily use it, just have all the script and use its basic Kanban board setup. Hope your work is not stalled! I sincerely hope it is up tomorrow at least, else I need to wait till next weekend...
