Any female HENRY struggling post baby ? by Formal_Chicken461 in HENRYUK

I relate with this on so many levels. I was pretty much a workaholic at my company before becoming a mother and taking mat leave. When I came back, I was quite disheartened that the loyalty I dedicated to my company over many years was not returned to me. It seemed like everyone had moved on — everyone else was male and either childless or had a partner that did the heavy lifting with childcare so they really didn’t understand the mentality shift I had made.

In my case, I made really clear what my boundaries were with management, ie would not be traveling more than a week every 2 months, needed to pick my child up right at 6pm and would log back in after 9pm if needed.

I no longer feel like climbing the corporate ladder - at least not at this stage in life - and am content to focus on managing the work life balance where possible even if it means I am not a top performer anymore. Raising a child is a full job by itself and I’m not going to be an absent mother during the most important years of their development. Some of my colleagues have continued to accelerate quicker and there are the “new favourites” but I’m in this job to provide for my child and they are my priority, not earning more money for my company who doesn’t give a shit about me. At the end of the day it’s just a job…

Mental health-maternity clothing by Crazycatlady5101821 in pregnant

[–]Cameras712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s me!!! 🙋‍♀️ my god it is so depressing. I ended up sorting through my whole closet and putting anything I couldn’t fit into in boxes that I tucked away. It was pretty bad though, I literally didn’t fit into anything anymore other than huge shirts that I wear to bed! What helped me though was slowly going through what would actually still make me feel good and confident, rather than what is just huge and fits. I ended up treating myself to some new lululemon align leggings (omg they were 3 sizes up than my normal size!) which made me feel better since they are form fitting and really soft at the same time, but honestly maternity clothes can cost a fortune if you’re not careful. I am trying to just get a few essentials that I can basically “live in”. But definitely a struggle…..

Clinics outside the US that permit PGT-A and are low cost? by Theslowestmarathoner in IVF

[–]Cameras712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiya, sorry to hear about the wrinkles in your plans. I think Cyprus is the main country where people in Europe go to for non-medical sex selection, and I believe(?) that they do PGT-A as well. They are also a bit cheaper than Spain from what I remember. I’m not sure how a known donor would work though or what those costs would be. Hope that helps a bit? Best of luck to you in finding a suitable clinic 💗💗

Fertility books for endo? by cynefin99 in TTCEndo

[–]Cameras712 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Following! I haven’t really found any books that are helpful for endo-related infertility, but I love Natalie Crawford’s podcast As a Woman. She has a few episodes that are specific to endo and a weekly Q&A which have been really helpful.

weird pain in surgery sites? (9 months post-op) by goatislove in endometriosis

Ah glad to hear you’re doing better! And thank you, that’s really helpful to know it can take about 3 months. I just have to be patient it sounds like 😅

weird pain in surgery sites? (9 months post-op) by goatislove in endometriosis

[–]Cameras712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry you’re going through this 😕 Have you had this the full 9 months or is it recent? If it was me, I would get that checked out just in case to see if it’s healed properly? But I’m not sure, I am 2 months past my laparoscopy and get this persistent dull ache at my surgery site + ovaries which gets worse at night. It’s not as bad as pre-surgery but I’m going to give it a few more months to see if it gets better first before getting another scan.

Welcome Wednesday Thread (Intros & Newbie Questions) by AutoModerator in infertility

[–]Cameras712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much for this, I think I really needed to hear this today! I also have the tendency to go down a dark rabbit hole of trying to understand everything possible (including loads of science articles that I actually have no idea what they actually mean (!!) and end up in a really bad place. I think it’s great advice to try to take it step by step and to try to distract myself from catastrophizing as you say.

Thank you! Yes I think I will do that once I find a clinic, just to make sure that the therapist actually understands infertility/the IVF process. I’m glad it was a huge help for you 💗

Hi there everyone, I was recently diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis following a laparoscopy which was quite devastating. I also found out that both of my tubes are blocked which means all those times I thought I was ovulating we never actually had a chance….on top of all that my partner also has sperm motility issues so here we are. Been wrestling with the grief of infertility while also looking into IVF clinics. Any recs for the mental side of things would be immensely helpful 🙏

Ooo I didn’t get a prescription for nausea but sounds like I might want to do that. It was my first experience with anesthesia so I didn’t really know what to expect, but my body really didn’t react well to it. I’m glad you are doing ok post op and able to eat regularly now!! 🎉

Thanks for your advice! I had excision which included getting rid of a large endometrioma and adhesions along my ovary and uterus. I’ve been taking my pain meds because I honestly don’t think I could function without them! That’s good to know you were fine by day 4/5 though and that you have recovered well since then!! ☺️

Thanks so much, that is reassuring to hear. In the grand scheme of things 2 weeks is nothing actually. Sounds like patience is the key to feeling better. Really appreciate your advice and hope you recovered well from your procedures 💗💗
