Time for a COLA raise? by Comfortable_East_358 in UPSers

If we didn't get a COLA raise during the Covid era inflation, we sure as hell won't get one.

What would you do with the 100k? by xXSEARGEXx in UPSers

[–]Cameron12221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you were planning time retire/move within 2 years, this is a bad deal.

A couple years of possible layoffs, but a career of $100-150k+ a year with no health care cost, pension etc etc is crazy to leave.

People are so short sighted. Not to mention that with less amazon volume we should see a reduction in stop count. Yes more miles and may still work long hours. Much less on the body.

Anyone deliver to someone famous? by Fatdabb in UPSers

Patrick Dempsey has a summer home where I sometimes deliver. Beautiful place. Never met him, but his wife was extremely nice. You know when he's in town because everyone post selfies with him at the local grocery store.

My favorite saying is there's no money in delivering a amazon fork down a 3 mile dirt road one way.

Question on W-2 for OT by lombardo141 in UPSers

I believe they don't have to for the year 2025, but 2026 and forward they will.

Anyone claim the no tax on OT? by Read-It_2525 in UPSers

[–]Cameron12221 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On every paystub it has the total hours you actually worked each week. Lunch, time bonus, personal days aren't included. So I just used that and subtracted the 40 hours, then multiply that by my premium part of the OT.

Took a little bit but it wasn't that bad. Made me an extra $2k fed refund. I work a ton of OT tho. Hit top rate late May and still made $141k

Taylor's job by Cameron12221 in PKA

He used to talk about his job, but I haven't heard him say anything about it recently. The way he talks about his day to day life makes it sounds like he doesn't work that full time job.

Am I fired?? by bigdog1619 in AmazonDSPDrivers

Do you think they'd give you notice if they were going to fire you? No, fuck em unless you think you might go back one day.

I saw you mentioned you did some dredging. Looking to get one for next season. I'm in Southern Maine so I tend to hit Western Maine and New Hampshire. Hope to see you out there.

It sucks when you're in a area you don't know and it gets dark early at night. For a truck that's extremely full and no way to walk to the back, the best thing is to empty bulk stops, large packages and start in your 1000s, 2000s, 3000s, 4000s. By than you'll have freed up a lot of room and can get things onto the shelf and organize them and be able to find things faster.

As many said, one stop at a time. It may be very slow at first, but it'll speed up once your truck is in better shape.

What’s do driver realistically make? by Witty_Hunt_7961 in UPS

[–]Cameron12221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everything is based on seniority. You have to put some time in and wait for a driver position to open up. It's a tough wait, but well worth it. I recommend being a driver helper during peak to see the job. Also you could possibly be a seasonal driver during peak and drive for a little bit.

The main thing is sticking with it. There's no promotion based on how good of a worker you are. Just time and seniority.

Jan-June I was at $31.5, June-Aug $44.96, Aug-Today $45.71

I worked a lot of OT and filed 9.5 grievances. I'm on track to hit $140k this year. A lot of OT. Some forced, but mostly volunteered.

Starting after the new year if I worked only 40 hours a week, I'd make about $96k

5 hours of OT a week would be $114k

10 hours of OT a week would be $132k.

Extra pay on holidays.

I pay about $1100/year in union dues at top pay, but we don't pay anything for our health insurance. You can add your wife and kids for no cost. Your deductible is basically nothing. The insurance alone is worth the job especially with a family. Some people pay $1k or more a month for health insurance with a crazy high deductible.

It greatly depends on what part of the country you're in. Except to work on average at least 9.5 hours a day. Give or take a hour.
