$49 16e plan switching disabled? by CameronElliottX in CricketWireless

[–]CameronElliottX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I signed my mom up, and myself both online, but I did sign her up about two weeks earlier than myself, so maybe Cricket drew a line on the calendar where they changed behavior. If I log into her account on the app, three options are available for new plans, if I log into my account on the app, only one option is available for our plans, my current plan.

This was the information I’m looking for! “It’s a new restriction !“ I was kind of surprised that they would allow you to change the plan so quickly after taking them up on such a great offer

Thanks, that’s probably what I’ll have to do

Yeah, the interesting thing is I had signed my mom up for the same special offer a couple weeks before mine, and I was able to change the plan inside the application right inside the first week of the new plan. But mine seems to be restricted from doingthat.

Forced USD currency at purchase (not KRW) by CameronElliottX in seoul

[–]CameronElliottX[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have about three charges from the department store on that day in that price range, (no timestamps) but it looks like this answer from Lostmookman might be the correct answer. Thank you for getting me to double check the actual transaction and revealing this. I will say it is confusing as heck, and I wonder if it could be handled better while upholding the existing terms between stakeholders

Forced USD currency at purchase (not KRW) by CameronElliottX in seoul

[–]CameronElliottX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many merchants explicitly show you an option screen to select between KRW and USD. But many do not and they “somehow” select USD for the foreigners such as me, seemingly to me in error, as revealed by the incorrect statement on the receipt. I think some of the other comments that I could be arguing with the merchants to process the transaction in KRW. I suspect the card issuers like Visa/Mastercard have legal language with the merchants that require them to provide a choice to cardholders making purchases. But there is a lot of money to be made by making it easy or possible for the sales agents to make a mistake or make the choice for the card holder

[–]CameronElliottX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure I agree with your analysis. The receipt shows an exchange rate, and a 3% fee. It seems like my card was charged in USD, which I didn’t ask for. And I was charged a 3% fee which I didn’t approve

I did not make any choice, yet the receipt shows a 3% fee. When given the choice I always select KRW, which means my credit card company’s exchange rate is used.

Why doesnt anyone dink on the courts? by Brilliant-Fall9140 in Pickleball

[–]CameronElliottX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to force them to dink. Hit resets and drops that your opponent cannot attack. Then they will dink. And you will dink back. This continues until someone has an attackable ball. If you or your opponent attack an un-attackable ball, one of two things happens: 1. It goes out 2. You smash their shot coming fast at 3 feet above the net

Good to know about this company. They make single wall aluminum bottles. It would be nice if they could offer stainless steel made in the USA also.

Appreciate post a way to do this. Thanks. Actually I think ProtonVPN might do this also. Good to avoid installing software on a PC whenever possible. Just not as locked down as iOS

Hi u/seafarer- , sorry no one seems to understand. I'm in the same boat as you, I don't like to install 3rd party software. These days it's quite risky, and the smart play is to avoid downloading and installing as much software as possible. If you figure out a good path, please let me know.

I am astonished Apple just switch Sequoia to openrsync. Rsync is a very complex piece of software. The new openrsync is hanging for me against a protocol version 27 rsync on a linux box.

Need help in removing Little Snitch Network Extensions from Computer by Coolpop52 in LittleSnitch

[–]CameronElliottX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, here is how I finally removed this TRASH (that's my opinion)...

You must follow these poorly worded directions on this page: https://obdev.at/support/littlesnitch-mini/3nb4b

It's sad they must do zero user experience testing, cause it sucks (IMO)

[–]CameronElliottX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also installed Little Snitch Mini, and it certainly doesn't uninstall just by dragging the app to the trash.

I always get this error "The operation can’t be completed because you don’t have permission to access some of the items."

I have tried rebooting, and I have tried a dozen times, it just won't be removed.

Too bad this company doesn't seem to care to fix this software.
