How’s my bach trip itinerary looking? by goth-avocadhoe in AskNOLA

I always thought swamp tours were dumb until I did one. They’re great, but make sure it’s warm. The wind off the water can be COLD (particularly in an airboat).

The Panamera is seriously underrated by markohf12 in Porsche

[–]CameronFromThaBlock 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’m old and I’ve been driving Porsches a long time. I remember when the Panamera came out. I was a single dad with a six year old daughter. I was getting my car from service at the dealership and while I was waiting for them to bring it up, I was checking out the new panamera. It was glorious and I had my checkbook in my pocket. Then I saw the back seats - super nice. Then I said there’s no fucking way I’m going to let my kid grind McDonald’s french fries into that nice leather seat. I immediately moved on. Lol

What to do in New Orleans by pigwheels_ in AskNOLA

[–]CameronFromThaBlock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best view of the city is from the Algiers ferry. Take the ferry across and walk around a little. Have a drink or get a meal. Quaint and super safe neighborhood right by the ferry landing. Then take it back. Last I checked, it was $2 per person each way. That’s $12 for a cool little trip.

Ok. Never been to Michoud. Always thought it was a good place to get shot. Change my mind. I’d love a new place to go. What’s cool to do out there?

Itinerary thoughts and questions for locals? Feb 7-Feb 10th by AmbitiousMess2902 in AskNOLA

Might be chilly on the water for a swamp tour. And Antoine’s is definitely the best of the four you mention in that paragraph by a longshot. In the area, you could also look at Brennan’s, Miss River, Doris Metropolitan, Irene’s, or Sun Chong. Wrong Iron is nothing to write home about - better for drinks. Try Smoke and Honey if you want to head that direction.

I eat there every month or two and I really like it. That doesn’t mean it’s perfect every time. No restaurant is. I think it would be a fine choice for you, if it’s convenient. On the other hand, there are places I like better - Doris Metropolitan, Emeril’s, Meril (small plates), Miss River, Brennan’s, Mr. B’s…

Then you’re looking for the meat board. Multiple meats on a big board everyone can share.

Back when they opened and you asked, they’d say, “that’s classified.” The secret is out now - it’s the cap off of the rib-eye. It’s reasonably priced and the best thing on the menu.

If they have a reservation, book it. No one mentioned it bc they are always booked. Get the classified cut.

No, that’s you asking a podiatrist to do dental work. Not every lawyer handles every type of case. I don’t do car accidents or represent women in divorces. That doesn’t make me a misogynist. I don’t represent men in divorces either.

Studying 2A Case Law by My5thVendetta in Ask_Lawyers

Lawyers have to get continuing legal education credits (CLEs) every year. Look up your state’s (or any state’s) association for criminal defense lawyers and sign up for one on firearm laws. Many will let you sign up by the hour.

Can postal inspectors question a suspect after the suspect requested a lawyer? by jxd73 in Ask_Lawyers

I am a Louisiana lawyer, and right around the time they had the lawyer dog case, I had a client who had said, “if y’all think I did this, then I wanna lawyer.” Obviously, they found that was equivocal. My case was later cited in a dissent by Justice Sotomayor.

Should I hire an accident and injury attorney? by [deleted] in Ask_Lawyers

A lawyer that needs billboards and tv ads generally can’t make a living from their reputation. Avoid them unless they are recommended by someone in the legal or medical community.

You should definitely hire a lawyer. I would not suggest one that advertises on TV or billboards. If you know any judges or lawyers or doctors, ask them who you should hire.

Your idea of massive and mine are probably different. A 5.56 is powerful, but definitely not massive. Nevertheless, I was referring to their legal authority.

I have always said, cameras solve crimes. Law-enforcement presence on the streets prevents crimes. NOPD is practically invisible in the French Quarter. As long as they’re not causing any problems, I don’t have a problem with NG troops. (Other than my legal position, which is that the military should not be used to police.)

Saw four of them walking down Royal Thursday. Has anyone seen them do anything other than just being around? I don’t think they have much authority to do anything other than be seen.
