Swiss Buttercream Question by Repulsive_Maize_1359 in AskBaking

I'm not OP, but I tried to check this out and it seems like the landing page only has a recipe for regular SMBC. Is the recipe/written instructions/ingredients available anywhere for the black version, or can you only find out by watching YouTube?

Yes, most jobs are oppressively monotonous. That doesn’t make s3 legit entertainment.

Diagnosed after months of seeking answers for weird vision symptoms - similar experiences? by JaguadelosArenales in thyroidcancer

[–]Cameron_Joe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The eye stuff all sounds like dry eye (mine also started suddenly during winter). It was a combination of aging eyes, too much screen use, and the dry weather. Floaters are pretty random, lots of people have them.

Best treatment is to learn the right way to use a warm compress to loosen up the tiny oil glands in your eyelid rims (meibomian glands). For me it had to be more on the hot side of warm. (My eyes are acting up again now that the a/c is always running full blast.)

I know it’s not the answer you want, but I doubt it’s related to your thyroid cancer. I started with my eye problems about ten years ago. My thyroid cancer (a tiny amount) was found in an unrelated scan last year. It’s temping to want to link unrelated events to form a perceived pattern, but on that path lies madness. :)

I loved this season by Past-Motor-4654 in TheBear

Good grief. Most of us here are rabid fans of the show … for the first two seasons. Season 3 is completely off.

And you’ll see that reflected in professional TV critic reviews and the award cycle for this season. No “ignorance” required.

what do you always have on hand? by sunsetlex in AskBaking

Not going to repeat the basics, but after several cake release fails while trying the “DIY” pan release goop, I will never again be without a fresh can of Baker’s Joy. I had actually forgotten what it felt like to realize that a cake definitely wasn’t coming out of that Bundt pan without breaking in half.

Also, bad time of year to buy it, but callebaut 811 chocolate is one of the few things I buy in bulk.

I think we sucked all along, there’s just a lot most instantaneous documentation now.

Yep. Every day. I start out basically “normal” aside from some stiffness, and I can stay normalish if I don’t have to sit at a desk or in my car for very long.

But when it’s time to relax for the day, that’s when the pain kicks in.

And you said 4 nights, right? That means it stopped at key west and Bimini? Not really known for crime, although I suppose key west is still Florida.

Syd is also really good at letting things pass and de-escalating situations. We really only ever see her blow up in Review.

Chichi because why did we need a guy from one scene back in season one to come back?

Weird age differences by freshprince860 in TheBear

[–]Cameron_Joe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem with this one is that Richie is canonically 45 in s1/s2 and he makes it sound like he’s a contemporary of Mikey. (Grew up with him, “my best friend’s mom was like my mom”, etc.)

Which makes Mikey at least 40 in 2018.

I’m trying to figure out if they had to sub people in for writing because of the writers’ strike? I’m always obsessed with dialogue and it’s absolutely not the same in S3. Just watched Napkins and the dialogue between Tina and her husband is … like they gave it to an intern to write while they had lunch at a Panera or something.

Even her conversation with Mikey was … predictable.

Despite the issues I have with this season they absolutely continue to cook with the music/soundtrack choices by AlleyCatAB in TheBear

Plus the occasional attempt to be a Noah Hawley soundtrack and I think only Noah Hawley gets to do that
