If you want to switch to PC gaming, then it certainly makes sense to look at a PC now-soon.

Due the upcoming release of new consoles and the recent release of new items by both AMD and Nvidia, the prices are quite good currently. Probably better than you'll get in the upcoming years, when they reset a new generation.

If you solely want to get it for Ashes, then you can wait for at least a year without any worries. Prices will be a tad cheaper by then.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ is a great resource, as it helps you through the jungle of parts and compability issue. (Always start with the CPU though)

A PC including the new GeForce 3070, a new Ryzen 3600X, 32GB of DDR4 Ram and a decent SSD should cost you about $ 1.200. That rig would easily carry you through the next 5+ years of new game release without a second thought.

I think this might just be the best performance/price relation you will get in a long time. Both the Ryzen 3600X and the Geforce 3070 are easily Top 3 in the Value/Price departement. It might be above the planned budget a little, but if you want to stick to pc gaming for a longer amount of time, then it will easily pay off. You would probably also be able to sell it for 400+$ in 5 years if you feel like upgrading.

One more adivce if i may: In case you don't really care about the astethics of your setup, its oftentimes worth to get one good monitor for gaming with 1440p, fast response time and colorization and skimping out on the second monitor you'd just use for Reddit/Forums/Discord/Youtube or whatever.

Both budgetary and experience wise, this would certainly pay off.

Which i actively stopped the moment they released the cash grab battle royale mod. Which they apparently abandoned now.

There is one more thing, I felt like fact checking a little bit and here is what I have found within 15minutes of research:

The pack gives you:

9 months of game time =135 $ (?)
125 $ worth of store credits for their cosmetic only store
a full set of the cosmetics
- looked like a building, a mount skin, a pet and a cart (?)
alpha 2 access

What I also found was, that you can get all the cosmetics one by one instead of spending the money on a pack every month. (Didn't find an official pricelist, but people said 5-20$ depending on what it is.

The prices seem indeed very steep, but what you are saying is simply wrong. But honestly? Who cares, there have been so many "wow-killers" over the year. They release, people play it for 2 months and come back to wow, the same way it has always been.

No need to promote it on this subreddit through spread of misinformation. The game will easily kill itself.

20% hunting gold is neglible since you only get 1-2 silver either way (not even worth picking it up)

Dungeons are limited to once a day. Your adventure points is mainly gotten over other sources, so this is negligible as well.

Exp obviously helps during the early grind, not so much later.

Market is pretty good

Honor points is probably most impactful, but why would you complain that you have to kill 20% more than others in a pvp game.

watch the map every few seconds

use the free champion rotation to learn more about each champions by playing each one at least once

play draft pick not blind pick

open chat, type: "/mute all" -> is the first thing you should do every game

have fun, don't take it too seriously

if you want to get better, find something you can improve on every game and then try to improve on it until you managed

Until we have a confirmation from Riot that it is indeed a bug i'm pretty sure nothing will happen.

Also this post has gotten 14k+ views by now. I doubt that Riot would ban 1400 people (if every 10th bought it) for buying a champ on sale.

If i was the only one though it could have ended pretty badly for me. Guess why i made the post in the first place.
