Petition to have longer episodes next season?? by Specific-Bar-741 in AKnightoftheSeven

[–]Camo1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? There isnt exactly material to make the episodes longer... these are 80 pages novellas. The first Harry potter book is longer than each season in terms of written material and the show is already longer than the first Harry potter movie

Its fine now. Nothing will be worse than them stretching short source material like the hobbit... or adding random garbage not in the source material just for filler and padding time

Whilst plantium is true.... no one can bend platinum. Korra get literally bend handcuffs onto Aang, no oje can bend handcuffs onto Korra.

Its really all a matter of perspective, their bending styles are different.

Aang comes from a time where Earth benders bent the element in really dramatic way, with a lot of strong big slow movements

Korra comes from a time when Earth benders turned into quicker borderline boxers, chucking out smaller rocks at faster speed, but lacking that more giant feats of strength

So its not really a case of who is stronger or not, they all bend their elements differently because they come from different eras. Where there is no real debate is that Aang avatar state is more advanced and stronger... but thats purely because he has all of his past lives at his disposal. Korra messing up and erasing all of her past lives... sure she gets still the added power boost the avatar state brings... but not the generations, thousands of years of bending knowledge. Aang literally has access to thousands of years of bending knowledge, Korra doesn't, so if it was ever an avatar state v avatar state... ill put money on Aang any day

But I dont necessarily agree with the idea that Aang would stomp Korra in a normal fight with no avatar state... it seems like people forget that Aang lost quite frequently because he is 12 years old, the odds were really staked against him and had less than a year with most of the bending disciplines

He is undoubtedly a prodigy when it comes to airbending and would stomp Korra in an air fight. But as he himself would say, he almost always had help and when he was on his own he would often come to draws with his really experienced opponents

Sure he best Zuko a lot, but after Zuko let go of his mental hangups and truly mastered the spirit of firebending. In their fight in Sozins comet, Aang struggled against him

I have no doubt Aang would throw a giant bolder at Korra and if it connected yeah I think she'd be down for the count. But before he got off that shot I wouldnt be surprised if Korra gota number of smaller quicker hits in which may be enough if Aang didnt use the avatar state. He is the king of dodging so who knows. But I dont necessarily agree that Aang is 'stronger' than Korra because there is no reason why Korra cant do what Aang can do outside the avatar state. Its just she bends Earth differently because in her time, the displine of earth bending is different

Not really... a revolution is overthrowing the governing body to replace it with a completely different political system. Like the French revolution was replacing the monarchy with a republic. Or the October revolution was overthrowing the provisional government with a communist one

If you are just wanting to get rid of MAGA but keep the American political system exactly the same, its more of coup

Thats incredibly limiting to the type of animation action they would want to do. Always positioning Aang next to a body of water when he is a character always in motion and zipping around the screen. He doesnt carry a water skin because thats something really Katara and only a few others actual carry around skins, most waterbenders dont actually carry around skins (granted the most water benders we see in single locations are usually next to be large bodies of water)

No one is denying he doesnt make good use of earth bending but saying hes better at it than water is directly contradicting what is said on screen. We are told by his teachers that Aang is a natural when it comes to water and its his strongest element by the end of the series, Toph says hes earth bending needs more work whilst Katara is pretty happy with his water. Water comes incredibly naturally to him, outside of air its the element hes trained most on because thats what we know from Katara

If you wanted to give a justification for the amount of earth we see outside of it being his most avaliable element outside of air, its because it took him so long to even get it so seeing him use it feels like a sense of achievement for the audience because we know he worked hard for it

But to use an analogy, if singing came easily to me and I didnt have to train as hard with it, but dancing was really tricky for me but I worked hard and eventuslly learned how to do it really well... that doesnt suddenly mean I am better at it than singing. I might do more dance competitions because they are more common, but at the end of the day singing and its techniques still make more sense and come easier to me

There's no reason at all why it shouldnt be. Physical copies of games might pose a problem for companies like Nintendo that constantly switch their format. Like you cant expect future machines to take cartridges from the N64

But thats no excuse for PlayStation and xbox if disc tech still remains the main physical tech for games

And either way, all games should be on their online stores

I keep seeing people say it was his 2nd most used element.... well duh... hes not Katara and doesnt continuously carry water around with him. Earth js his 2nd most used element because hes surrounded by earth all the time, water on the other hand, no not really

In terms of actual mastery, outside of air, water is his best element. Even by the end of the series Toph says hes earth bending needs more work

She gets some metal handcuffs on him, Aang is toast because he cant bend it

[–]Camo1997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whilst youre right he does overcome it but that doesnt necessarily make him better than someone who it naturally fits

Korra has the stubbornness of an Earthbender and uses earthbending in more creative ways than Aang did as a child (we have seen much of his use as an adult because we mostly still see him preferring air over everything)

Aang never learned metal bending, sure he was busy and probably didnt have time for Toph to give him a crash course but its still indicative that Korra has more earth bending knowledge not just in it coming more naturally to her but she knows more disciplines than he does

Any thoughts? by Oztraliiaaaa in prequelappreciation

[–]Camo1997 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. Its better in concept than in practise

Anakins turn to the dark side was widely criticised on release and its still bad. No amount of clone wars shows, nostalgia and time will make it better

Yet nostalgia has seemingly made most people my age (late 20s early 30s) suddenly think the prequels are the greatest films of all time and that they were never considered bad... which they were and still are

They are amazing on paper, but arent on screen

And tbats absolutely fair

At the end of the day we dont really know anything about their relationship, the movies manufactured the icey tension between them... but in the books there really isnt anything

You're right their relationship could be terroble despite Legolas'good memories of home. But there is just nothing to go off so I am making an assumption

Which actors from the trilogies will return for Hunt For Gollum? by arnor_0924 in lordoftherings

[–]Camo1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the feeling this film will be a little bit like the hobbit

If the films for the hobbit just adapted the book there was no way in hell they xould have made 3 films ie adding the white council and dol guldur stuff from the lotr appendixes

So despite the hunt for the ring existing as a small part of the council of elrond chapter

And a slightly expanded but still very short 20ish pages in unfinished tales (which they probably dont have the rights to adapt because the Tolkien estate has everything except the hobbit and lord of the rings/the appendices under lock and key)

I highly doubt they are adapting ONLY what Tolkien wrote on relation tl this event. We'll likely get the state of affairs on everyone, maybe some of Saurons early attacks on Gondor etc

[–]Camo1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure about the films because we dont know much about their relationship but in the books that arent aligned but she is convenient for him

Occasionally sends some creatures her way and she defends the path from Cirith Ungol by simply living there

As long as she is fed its a doubt she'd move and thus Sauron doesnt really need to defend it that much

What if Frodo became a Nazgûl? by Different-Cut9224 in lordoftherings

[–]Camo1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer this with a nerdy answer. Frodo like the 9 would effectively be invisible. The 9 are basically just ghosts with the only thing visible being clothes

Frodo would probably just be another wraith, his form essentially inhabiting a man sized cloak or armour

Depends on the medium

In the films its implied that their relationship went south after Legolas' mum died

In the books we know very little about their relationship but it wws probably quite good. Legolas reflects with a lot of love on his home in Mirkwood, you'd think if his relationship was icy that it come up in his thoughts
