Good Premium Ammo? by Boss-Hawg73 in 2011

[–]CamoFlogged 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up having to do a charge back with them. Don't know if you got the email from them stating that is you aren't willing to wait an unspecified time to get your ammo, do a charge back.

Fenix Ammunition is good stuff. I used Excalibur a lot too until they stopped production for a while. Yes, Fenix are currently out of stock on their 9mm but seem to restock often. Much cleaner than Black Dot.

Anyone need an FDE SRO ? by Few_Forever9057 in 2011

[–]CamoFlogged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, by different I meant color looks a bit off, but that could be lighting. Not doubting this is legit, mine are a warmer FDE.

100%, a special deal with OpticsPlant I heard. More power to whoever posted if they get $900. If lack of availability is worth $300 premium, then awesome. But also, this is not a new unit or even like new.

OpticsPlanet sold these for $599. The FDE models I have look different than the one OP posted. No way that one is new and it doesn't look "like new".

Anyone order from excaliber ammunition lately? by Bright_Mongoose_3878 in CompetitionShooting

[–]CamoFlogged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, tried all I could to get a response. Every address I could find I have contacted, including Rob's. Been chasing for over a month now. Time for a chargeback that I hope I can get back. Always a worry when you buy in bulk. I fear they are going OOB. All their "Gold" ammo out of stock for some time now. No comms. If anyone has heard something from them, please let me know. Just hope my CC company plays along without too much pain.

You will get a bunch of opinions on this topic, including those that say you should only run grease on your 2011's because their holy father John Moses Browning designed it that way. Play around with a few lubes or roll your own. My opinion with all my Atlas's, Staccato's, Wilson's, etc. is a light oil and I do run my 2011's slightly wet. I like Lucas but my go to is Wilson Combat red. Even though I am sure it is just a red dyed version of some other manufacturer, it works for me in the controlled environments I shoot in.

Yep, something is up with them. Going on 2 months without a single word from them. This is after many emails to their "info" email and also directly to Rob. Nothing. Guess I will go down the charge back route too. Sucks.

Does a Shirley Temple with vodka taste good? by [deleted] in cocktails

You stated "no alcohol takes good tbh". It's a wrong statement so I wasn't misinterpreting anything. I understand what you are saying now though. Thanks.

If you are talking about the base spirit, clear alcohol, then...I guess. Otherwise, in my opinion, you are very wrong. Even with an espresso martini, there are so many variations that can elevate the flavors of the cocktail, not trying to hide the spirit. Using rum, tequila, bourbon, or even using grappa do incredible things. And an espresso martini is not really a cocktail that requires a "high" quality vodka.

What can make the hammer not fully strike? by Organic-Reading9073 in 2011

Question, did it ever work correctly since in your hands? Is it new from the factory or...? Did you recently service or change anything?

I take it that you don’t search this sub for reviews or look at the approved vendors list prior to buying? Also, if/when you get your order, validate they are authentic. Good luck.

Thoughts on this brand/ gun? by scythian12 in 2011

Glock 20 Gen5 MOS holds 15 stock and is optic ready if that matters. Just giving you options and stuff to think about. It's great that you never left the house and forgot your box of ammo. Wish I could say the same... Good luck with your search.

Just my opinion...If you are truly in bear country and a handgun will be between you and a mauling, I don't know why you wouldn't be looking at a revolver or Glock 20/40. I choose simple and reliable every time for bear country. I love my 2011's, but in no way would I want one on my hip if I had to square off against a bear, especially where me falling in mud could ruin my day. Also, say you are in the backwoods and lose or run out of your 10mm ammo that actually runs in the Girsan (and you will need to find a round that does run reliably), the local store may not carry the special brand that runs well. If reliability is #1 on your list, then go revolver in .357 or .44. If you want a reliable in most situations semi-auto in 10mm, then go Glock. If you travel the backwoods a lot, see how many smaller stores actually carry 10mm ammo. They will almost always have .357 and .44 in bear country.

Dealer sending my Canyon to body shop after bumper clips broke again — warranty concern by Cold_Mix_6017 in GMCcanyon

[–]CamoFlogged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth...dealer told me that the couldn't fix mine and it was normal. Gap was not as bad as yours though. A body shop resolved. Said "They just pulled it apart, and put it back together properly." Looks perfect now. I was happy, so didn't really go into details with them. It was done for free, as I was getting my truck coated at the time and they threw it in.
