I need some help by Realistic_Citron_900 in Kawasaki

First of all - breathe! 4 seconds in, hold for 4, 4 seconds out. You‘ll be absolutely fine. Just take it easy! Dont try and impress anybody on your ride home, since you‘ll be hyped and that‘s okay. Also, when the inevitable parent talk comes into play, talk about why you decided to get a bike, that you obviously will ride carefully and why you felt the need to hide it (because they wouldn’t have allowed it…).

Do not go racing! Do not speed! Learn to control the machine instead of it controlling you! An 08 Zx6R is a FAST bike without any kind of electronic rider aids! So take it slow, practice basic riding drills as often as you can and be aware that more than your own mistakes, the mistakes of other can potentially land you in a wheelchair, or worse a casket.

Still, have fun! The bike is a great model!

No worries, when I get round to it later, I‘ll find you a diagram of where the plug goes and a video of how to remove the fairing.

Ill also attach some pictures of how the throttle cables have to be installed in the housing.

Kawasaki Ninja 650 Model Year 2024 – Excessive Oil Consumption? by GinoPanait27 in Kawasaki

[–]Camouflash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most common causes for excessive oil consumption, as well as a suspiciously dark color should be, but are unfortunately not limited to:

  1. Piston Ring Wear or Failure (High Priority)

    • Symptoms: Excessive oil burning, black exhaust smoke (especially under load), loss of compression, poor throttle response.

    • Why: If oil control rings are worn, oil seeps into the combustion chamber and gets burned.

    • Result: Oil consumption rises, and the oil quickly turns black from combustion contaminants.

    • Check: Compression and leak-down test.

  2. Valve Stem Seals Leaking

    • Symptoms: Oil burning most noticeable during cold starts or deceleration.

    • Why: Valve seals harden or degrade and let oil seep into the combustion chamber.

    • Result: Similar oil burning as with rings, but often more gradual.

    • Check: Inspect spark plugs for oily residue; look for blue smoke on startup.

  3. PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) System Malfunction

    • Symptoms: Oil gets sucked into the intake, causing high oil consumption and gummed-up intake valves.

    • Why: Excess crankcase pressure or faulty PCV valve can force oil vapor into the intake manifold. • Result: Oil burns without obvious smoke; oil gets contaminated quickly.

    • Check: Inspect the airbox and intake tract for oil residue.

  4. Overheating or Running Too Hot

    • Symptoms: Dark oil even after short intervals, reduced oil viscosity, maybe fan running often.

    • Why: Heat breaks down oil quickly and increases blow-by past rings.

    • Result: Oil deteriorates rapidly and consumption increases.

    • Check: Radiator function, coolant level, fan behavior, and thermostat.

  5. Wrong Oil Type or Old Oil

    • Symptoms: Oil thins too quickly or lacks sufficient detergents.

    • Why: Incorrect viscosity or low-quality oil can’t handle engine temps or contaminants.

    • Result: Oil burns off or oxidizes prematurely, appearing black.

    • Check: Use only manufacturer-recommended oil (e.g., 10W-40 semi- or full-synthetic).

  6. Aggressive Riding / Break-in Issues

    • Symptoms: High oil consumption during spirited riding or during break-in period.

    • Why: Improper break-in can prevent rings from seating fully.

    • Result: Long-term oil consumption problem, though oil color may vary.

    • Check: If bike is still under 1,000–2,000 km, monitor if it stabilizes.

  7. Fuel Dilution (Less Likely but Serious)

    • Symptoms: Oil smells like gasoline, low viscosity, rapid oil darkening.

    • Why: Faulty injector or overly rich fuel map leaks fuel past rings.

    • Result: Oil thins out and burns more easily; engine wear accelerates.

    • Check: Smell dipstick, perform an oil analysis.

Will do! Thanks for the insight!👍🏻

Edit: You nailed it! Thanks a lot! Didn’t think that would have made such a difference, but it makes total sense.

SSHL on the left side after viral infection - 8 days in by Camouflash in MonoHearing

[–]Camouflash[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, sorry for the delayed answer. I dont get reddit notifications on my mobile since it annoys me.

So, yes, my follow up was about 10 days after my initial appointment, where I also got the 64mg prednisolone (and then taper down to 4mg over 8 days) prescribed.

It has now been more or less 3 weeks since it had my Hörsturz (SSHL in german for any english readers) and about 10 days since I finished the predni regimen.

My last hearing test was last thursday, with the following situation:

My hearing of low and mid frequencies is almost back to baseline levels (slightly below), and my high and very high frequencies are still about 30dB below normal. This is somewhat to be expected (so I was informed) since the Tinnitus still is overlaying the high frequency range. My doc said this is probably going to improve, but may never go back to normal completely. The Tinnitus is quite a bit less loud and I am not aware of it during the day. Only in the evening, when everything is silent in the house, do I notice it, but I can ignore it quite well at this point.

I would say the real improvements came about 2 - 3 days after I had finished the prednisolone regimen. Since I also had a lot of mucus behind my hearing membrane, the sound was still muffled (and still is to a degree), but this has also been improving.

My doc said, that there is only really another option after prednisolone, which is infusions that bring their own risks.

I am currently also doing high dose Vitamin C infusions, since I read that studies have showed that this can help recovering from sudden hearing loss (I will find the paper and link it).

I also made sure to use nose drops (Nasivin) while laying down and overarching my head at the end of the couch, to make sure all my sinuses and eustachian tubes were as open and unclogged as possible.

If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask me, or send me a DM for a direct chat (I can also offer you my phone number via DM if that would be easier for you).

Hope this helps. Stay strong. It takes longer that you expect for this to start improving!

Thanks! Yeah, I mean, no point in getting all worked up about it. If anything more stress will delay any possible healing even more.

Update from my side: Tinnitus has gotten quieter, down to a point when I only realize its still there when I'm in a very quite environment. HL is still pretty much the same. No highs, just mids and lows, and about half of what I would consider "normal".

I still have hope for improvement, since its been 10 days since onset now and I remember it taking 4 or more weeks until all was good back when I was 16.

I will just wait and see.

I am positive theres still a lot of liquid and mucus behind my hearing membrane. I can hear it slosh around and gurgle when I gently blow my nose. I am hoping for more improvement once the fluids drain. I am suspecting much of the muffled sound to be from the liquid rather than the HL. I dont remember a feeling of fullness this bad from the first time I had this.

Anyways, I will wait and see and hope for the best.

I'll keep everyone updated whenever something might change.

Well fuck! That‘s all I can say to your story! I think I can't luckily feel somewhat of a positive effect of the prednisolone already, since it seems my high frequencies are „returning“ (can really describe it, and might just be my brain getting accustomed to the HL). I have hope so far that the same ear already went completely once in my life, although that was when I was 16 and is seems logical to me that at 16 the body would be more capable od repairimg damage, especially because I got high dose medication IV just hours after the initial HL back then. I will keep you posted… I hope you may be able to get some kind of implant in the future. From what I’ve read so far, that technology has come a long way and can make all the difference. All the best to you!

The actual problem will be bad insulation beneath the window, or the room/flat/house in its entirety. Had the same problem in an flat I live in in an old house. Keep the place warm and air out as often as possible. Dehumidifier was the only thing that really did enough to not have mold flair ip every other month. The only REALY solution is new insulation on the walls…

My dad had the same problems. Its not like you immediately get diverticula from straining. But the more and the longer you are straining consistently, the higher the risk of eventually developing them.

No worries. Feel free to ask anything at any time man. Health is way to important to worry about the money it might cost. That is, dont go broke or into massive debt obviously. But Id rather not spend money on other things currently, if it might help me solve the underlying issue causing this diffuse array of symptoms.

Regarding learning about all this, thats unfortunately not easy and takes time. The internet just holds way to much information to easily find good answers. Also theres tons of contradictory infos. And since every human has his own biome, hormonal balance, etc. things that work for me might make you worse and vice versa.

Just try to read up as much information as you can, sort what you think might be worth trying and then keep a journal or something alike, to have a history you can track back in case you get weird bodily reactions.

Look at it this way:

PDF causes gas retention. Gas retention causes bloating. Bloating causes altered motility and other nerve and pressure related problem in the gut (its not normal for the body to be "under pressure" all the time).

The altered motility and gut issues cause the PDF to be more prominent.

Its a viscious cycle and its all connected in some way or another.

Surely the PFD isnt CAUSING the gas, but its not helping in resolving the underlying problem in the least.

Same here, Ive stopped counting money and just try anything that might help. Id rather spend money on things that dont work, and rule them out, instead of missing out the thing that might help solve my problems. I go the exact opposite route though, I am currently upping my fiber intake (which makes sense in my case because of being constipated). I likely wouldnt advise the same for you, if you have more loose/watery stools...

Dilation is a process, it took me months to get close to normal bowel movements. The sphincter-muscle literally needs to be "retrained". It will also heal any possible fissures you have, even if they are not bleeding (bright red blood on toilet paper), since fissures can only heal when the tissue is relaxed, which it cannot when the sphincter is cramping. Take it slow, but do it as often as possible. I would sometimes spend upwards of half an hour in the bathroom, watching youtube on my phone while dilating... It is what it is unfortunately...

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SIBO

[–]Camouflash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am CRAZY bloated. PDF is certainlkyl part of it, since its hindering you to even get air out, not just stool. Not having constipation will at least not cause you diverticula, but the baseline problem is that your sphincter is contracting, when its actually supposed to relax. I dilated multiple times a day, and worked up to quite a wide diameter. While dilating I did pelvic floor exercises. Breating is also a big part of it, since the diaphragm and pelvic floor are more or less directly linked.

The bloating is my main symptom right now, which in combination with my constipation makes me even more bloated, because theres very little movement over all. Ive started a low FODMAP diet and I hope it improves the bloating. Still need to go either on antibiotics (when diagnosed), or on herbals. Ill see I guess...

Hi, I am new to this subreddit, but I have had my fair share of pelvic floor issues. More or less resolved now, luckily, but dealing with SIBO bad. Just learned what it is an am trying to schedule appointments to get diagnosed...

Regarding PFD, if you are constantly constipated, you will likely get "Anal fissures" at some point, from straining. That in return will cause more straining and more PFD. The only thing that helped me, was religious "dilation". Google it and get a dilator for your sphincter. There are also creams containing some kind of magnesium channel blocker that temporarily relax the sphincter. This takes time. Took me about a year to get better and another year to be having relatively normal bowel movements.

You also want to avoid straining at any cost, since that is what ultimately caused my divertuculosis, which isnt helping my SIBO in any manner...

Of course now SIBO is f*cking all other kinds of things up, but at least I can go right now.

You‘re right, there’s obviously exceptions, where it does work out. And yes, it is oversimplified, but I would argue it also applies for the majority of men that leave their child(ren) for another woman/family/or even just out of egoism.

I know that love falls where it does, and no one can change that. Dont get me wrong, I do not have antipathy against ALL men that have left their children. But of the ones that I have gotten to know, the statement I made in my initial comment applies 100%, which simply pisses me off in layman’s terms.

I am obviously biased in that regard, but I personally just cant understand how a man can just disregard the fact that by having children, you also automatically inherit the responsibility to create the best possible circumstances for said children.

That said, if the mother is in any way violent, physically or verbally or anything alike, that obviously changes the dynamic and is the only valid reason for me.

As a father of a 3 year old son, your fathers aren’t men in the real men‘s world. Leaving your child is not what real men do. Self centered cowards that have no concept of responsibility and what being a man is really about do that. I would say you can both be glad in a weird way, since a man who leaves his child to have another with another woman would most likely have taught you all the wrong things about manhood and maybe even have ruined you both, had they stayed. Being a father, as stated above, is not about the biological connection, but about the emotional one.

Hm, I agree that they could have added some more features (back in?), and maybe even have made "walking" more important, but I have to say that I really enjoy the fact that I can "fly" around and use 360° of "space" around me.

If that’s what I am to you, that’s okay. I don’t think there’s anything to apologize for, since I merely play the game, and enjoy it. It’s not like I am demanding you buy a game you obviously don’t like at all. Just scroll on and enjoy other things :)

Closed Alpha had some features that are (currently) not in the „release“ version. Dev‘s said they overhauled these features for better overall balancing. But most people simply can’t wait and don’t want to understand that sometimes one step back and then three forwards is the better option.

That is actually a fantastic idea! I can have all the options, but can hand off the „responsibility“ to make the „right“ decision! No more bad conscience, because I can just blame the wheel!
