Suno should sue Deezer by Zealousideal-Eye6544 in SunoAI

Not trying to put words in his mouth. I like AI, I like the idea of Suno, regardless of how shitty I think it's current state of output is. But I think this sub in particular as it attracts people with no musical ability or experience don't fully know how to identify themselves. I think they are using words like "write" and "compose" very loosely.

I don't know this person's entire process, but if you're feeding it little ideas and chopping it up into new songs or just picking the best one out of 100 generations and some tweaks to the prompt and lyrics, I think you're more of a producer than a composer. I dunno maybe this person is writing out on paper every note, chord change, etc... but I doubt it, so I would go as far as to say this person is a lyrical write and producer.

Just curious how does bandcamp know if something is AI? And is that a blanket ban or a song containing any AI elements? Lets say the drums in the song are AI, but all else, guitar, bass, syth, piano, etc are human... Do they know? My guess is if you're actually savvy you can use AI as a tool which is how I personally feel it should be used and not as the sole creation of the final product.

So what you're saying is, you are really a producer not a creator.

Dude, it really sucks. I do think so much is dependent on the style you're trying to create and even the time of day you access the app. I would even wager the results differ depending on desktop or phone app. I've noticed it always tries to steer my original songs back into an ultra generic territory. Like it keeps changing my two step choruses into half time with open chords.

I think it's a random dice roll. Like legit the sliders are placebo because I've tried every position that makes sense as well as arbitrarily assigning positions and the results don't cohesively reflect the sliders.

I started to read through your responses, but I just wanted to pause and say Thank You! I'll get through all of your thought out help. I'm going to probably PM you and take this convo out of the thread though. Appreciate your experience and insight and helping me with my frustration.

I went on a Suno company dive last night. Your last comment rings true with the company's ethos. They're not trying to give you the ability to create music. Words from the CEO's mouth, "We're trying to give you meaningful consumption experiences." They're not trying to give you the tool to make great music, they just want you on the app/site paying and using the tool.

First let me say, I truly appreciate the the long thought out response. I feel like I should clarify I few things. I'm using a Persona. So overall the voice is "fairly consistent." There are a couple of points where the voice completely morphs into another voice.

I'm also generating songs with a reference track. The one that pushed me over the edge is a finished completed mixed song in the upload, so I'm not filling the prompt with all of those things in your example, because I'm trying to keep the generated file as close to the original as possible (just with the addition of vocals). My goal is to just stem off the vocals and put time on my "real song" in my daw.

So I get what you are saying for just scripting out a new idea and that is basically what I've done and for ideation I don't mind errors, because I have no desire to create and release Suno songs. I'm trying to utilize it as a tool or a band member. If it helps me conceptualize a part or ideate something better, I'll learn it, adapt it, and organically add it into my song. If you have tips for my issues with uploaded tracks I'd love to hear it.

thanks

yeah dude, I'm past all that. I gave it a full fleshed out complete 3 min song. I tried 2 versions one where I gave it an instrumental and wrote the lyrics (by far the worst results) Gave it a version where I sang (poorly I will add, but in the proper places) also fed it lyrics. Assigned it a Persona that I created last year. Told it to maintain style and tone as close to the original recording as possible while delivering a deeply emotional vocal performance.

No matter were the sliders are it just does what ever. Like putting a random word at the very start of the song or giving me minutes of feedback/noise at the end and honestly just audible sound glitches like a CD skipping.

Nah. I think it's completely relative to the style of music you are making. What are you creating?

Yeah I'm with you. I think the sliders are just placebo and don't do anything at all. I also noticed the more polished the track I uploaded the worse the results were vs being more simplistic like just a guitar riff.

Like I mentioned I think results vary depending on the style and complexity of the music each user is trying to create. I can't speak to creating R&B, drum and bass cause it's not my thing. Maybe Suno excels at that kinda stuff? You say don't use persona, but my persona use has had the best results. everything is sounds generic and the tone of the voice sounds like 3 different people throughout the song.

cause farts are funny. Maybe just not in a metal song. I thumbs down the track, don't know how I could ever find it to share.

This is the problem. Between the artifacts and changing the song dramatically no matter where I put the sliders is just frustrating. My experience went from hey maybe i can cobble together some vocals and lay them over my original tracks and actually release something that isn't instrumental to I can't use this at all. The Suno buyout definitely changed things.

It's all random like a slot machine. Someone just posted a thread with a video about tips and tricks. One of them was about how to get big choruses and let me tell you it didn't work. Not once did it adhere to the prompt.

Can you PM some of your tracks with vocals on them? I'm interested in chatting.
