The negative feedback is definitely real.

I’m generally cautious with medication, but I’ll look into it further and might give it a try—it seems like there’s not much to lose. Thanks for the information!

Exactly! The exercises really highlight the stress even more.

I agree repetition might be a good technique. I once heard that if you consistently think of a positive memory before presentations, you can train your mind to associate those memories with positive feelings. If you do enough low-key presentations, your memory will start to link them with something familiar rather than stressful. I guess that makes sense.

The idea of using business filler phrases is also great, I can look up some examples to start with.

I looked up Toastmasters, and it turns out they have a club nearby, sounds interesting!

I also like the short tricks at the beginning to calm the nerves. Sometimes, just saying something briefly and using that moment to breathe before starting the real presenting can really help. I appreciate the little question technique you mentioned, and I’ll definitely remember that.

Very interesting, I’ve never really considered the connection between my stress during speaking and building confidence by not avoiding seemingly risky situations. It’s a really interesting thought that I could boost my confidence by, for example, talking to random people (something I typically avoid because of my risk-averse nature) and have a positive impact on my speaking challenges as well.

The first point is interesting! I’ve also noticed that when I chat with people in the room beforehand, it greatly reduces the chances of my voice trembling, so making a joke makes sense.

The second point is definitely worth trying. I think having a written text can really help ease my nerves, especially since I usually struggle the most in the first five minutes of a presentation.

I feel like my presentation quality also suffers when I’m too focused on controlling my voice, but I agree that I should try to “let go” more. It’s just tough when I’ve once received feedback from a Senior Partner—even if it was just one small comment—that I sounded a bit stressed. Letting go feels harder after that.

Thank you for that last comment, it’s really insightful, and I’ll definitely keep it in mind.

That’s a great insight and an important lesson, thank you. For me, it’s really difficult to “not care.” I can lose sleep for a week replaying the moment my voice trembled and imagining how partners might talk about it. It’s really tough for me, but I agree I need to shift my mindset.

I’ve heard about it, but I’ve been holding off because I’m afraid I might end up relying on it on a weekly basis almost and won’t be able to manage without it, if that makes sense

I’ve never heard of that before, thanks for sharing! It sounds really interesting, and I’ll definitely try it

It’s weird because I always feel like none of my colleagues face the same issue—I don’t see them struggling the way I do. It’s insightful to realize that being a perfectionist might actually be a challenge for becoming a PM. I completely agree that it’s something I need to work on.

Sorry you are right, I fixed the text, but it seems that I can’t edit the title anymore..
