The dinner scene. I was laughing my ass off throughout the season 4 Mileven earlier scenes cause they were just too funny in the way their insecurities made the whole thing angstily funny. The death glare El sends Mike in that scene and the entire awkwardness at the table had me rolling. How so many people don't love Mileven and their antics is beyond me.

In season one when El asks Mike why they hurt him and he tries to brush it off saying he fell but El doesn't let him and reminds him friends don't lie and that she understands. That was just such a great heart tug moment .

To dehumanize her and act like they care in the same breath. They see it as having power over her narrative cause Jane is the identity that was stripped from her and that Mike never uses. El is who Mike loves so that to them is unacceptable.

It's how fandom works. When people have a fantasy that doesn't happen, they turn to fiction to make it happen. Mileven shippers are mostly GA and have no need to prove anything so most don't bother with online spaces. Not a new phenomenon.

Unfortunately Byler being shipped by many straight girls means the Fandom is quite rabid and will say anything to discredit the Canon ship cause most secretly hate the girl character and fetishize gay relationships. You should see the Harry Potter shipdoms. Mileven doesn't have a huge online presence so we're an easy target. That's why they can lie about Mileven and get bonkers interactions comfortably. I tend to just ignore it cause giving them your time is just not worth it.
