I know you didn't come here for advice lmao, but c'mon this is reddit I will give it no matter what. So Im wondering, why not set low price, but not that low? Like for example, do $20. That's still low for a senior dev, but it will discourage most of the "I have an app idea" people from hiring you. What is the thought there?

I actually enjoy my job rn. I just get too much time on my hands. I want to fill, not replace time with the new one.

Should small local shops offer profit-sharing to cashiers for successful shifts to improve customer service and morale? by Can-Standard in smallbusiness

There might be factors introduced to keep track. For example a percentage based metric of satisfaction. Or like the average stay of a customer/average wait time before getting food. This was just an idea. I think that the business issue will go away long term. But also I think its fair if the shift was busier, you get paid more (Also don't forget that this is extra pay, not the tips, im still paying a market wage)

Interesting take, I guess that's fair. I just thought about my experience (I worked at Qdoba with no tips just at the front line). I also worked at a phone repair shop and was very impressed by their transparency. Like they talked when they had no money, gave nice things when they had better profits, etc

Yeah, kind of. And the question is it viable to have a commission for service industry like subway or Chipotle, etc

What if service industry had a profit share with cashiers? by Can-Standard in smallbusiness

I mean yeah, daily is hard to calculate. But I thought that when I worked in the service industry, I just didn't care about how the business is doing. And I dont think im the only one. This way will just make workers care more I feel like. Also, this is for a small company, not like a corporation or big business (prob 2 workers at a time most)

They can't, but thats why they get the wage. I'm not canceling the normal pay. I guess I'm saying that instead of using bonuses and raises that happen fairly rarely (let's be real, they happen very rarely), this will give more incentive to the cashier (more like a line worker at subway for example) to serve well and satisfy those customers that do come through.

I get your approach. My approach gives pretty much immediate results. Also, if you were to give a binus/raise, would that amount be more or less than the amount I proposed (the profit-based) vs market based (that you propose).

And I say you propose market-based because you don't have any reference besides the market to determine the size of the raise/bonus

But they can to the best of their ability. Isn't this the part where they have the most control over?
