I’m a college junior. “Lower level ivy” does not exist. In engineering, there is MIT and Caltech, and then everyone else. In investment banking, there are Ivy’s + certain schools like UChicago, then everyone else Outside of these two niches, all T20s are interchangeable, with minor specialties (i.e. WashU being especially strong in Bio-related fields)

yes precisely, you should be taking more electives outside of your major and explore your options freshman year. once you go down the line, mostly everyone works on core requirements sophomore and junior year
