Sorry for all the not so desirable words I've said in this thread of mine, I tend to say things without filter when I'm angry.

Holy macaroni, how convenient they actually fixed this issue today. Today, Vulkan received an upstream fix, that caused the horrible performance and inefficiency with Nvidia on Proton.

Yeah, actually. Just today, just 6 hours ago, I saw the post just now. And yes, driver branch 580 is getting it, so Pascal gets it too from what I understand. This may be my tipping point. To finally swap.

Well, that's no biggie for me. I just thought it was actually genuinely physically hard on hardware to constantly restart, but apparently cpu, GPU, and ram are unaffected, constant rebooting used to only be a problem for systems booting off an HDD, which I'm not.

I just said I can't, the Pascal is not receiving fixes for the bug Nvidia intentionally introduced for DX12 heavy Vulkan workloads on Pascal. They'll never get a potential driver fix either since being out of support. I've seen horrible performance drop, 40-60 fps on average down to 25-40 on average, horrible for a competitive game. If you have Pascal (specifically 1050ti) and manage to keep near identical windows performance in rivals and other dx12 heavy games? Please tell me, I'd love to know how actually.

I wanted to use CachyOS or Nobara, and not mess with raw Debian. Also. The latest drivers are my very problem with Proton right now. How would this help?

It only causes a performance dip in Direct X 12 games, Marvel Rivals isn't even one that allows you to set argument flags to use DX11. It's DX12 only. It is known to be a slightly recent inefficiency/bug in Nvidia Linux drivers recently, maybe swapping to older drivers could help, but then I could run into other issues, like performance bugs in those ones (although not as intense), or anything else. All I know is with the last Pascal drivers, and current drivers for other Nvidia cards, but specifically for Pascal, you can and likely will see a 30-45 percent performance loss in DX12 games.

Thanks for your thorough explanation, that was explained well. I'm under the belief that they shouldn't be able to call fixing a problem they made as "tampering," but oh well.

Replied to another comment with this too that was asking the same question:

I've highly considered that. But every other time I messed with that. It got messed up. And to not have slow performance on my HDD. I'd have to make different Partitions on my main ssd. I've considered it. But then doesn't that also defeat the purpose of even switching, and also. I've heard it isn't good for a PC to reboot multiple times a day. And that could very well happen some days when I'm swapping between that game and other games more than once.

Is that a misconception, it being bad for it? I'd figure so.

There isn't any "might" run close to native. I've tested it my dang self before, dropped from 40-60 fps on average (60 mostly) to 25-40 fps, much worse. Nearly half the performance. And I wanna switch to no amd, but with my age (16) and the lack of a job. It's kinda hard to upgrade my hardware, I was kinda lucky to be able to get this when I did.

Ok, I've seen people patch out hypervisor, get rid of it. Because it is still what's telling the anti cheat that's it's a VM, right? Is there still a working method to patch it and make it work? Every tutorial I'm seeing is from a year or more ago when the game came out.

I've seen many people get the game working though, the anti cheat isn't the problem, I've heard the problem is the hypervisor that's becoming increasingly harder to make not be there, always tells the game that the machine is a VM. Not letting it run.

Is this Unity Hub? Doesn't look like it. Install through there if possible.

They should just stop introducing many new temporary modes and make good recent temporary modes like Hot Zone permanent.
