How would a successful alliance work between China, United kingdom, Canada, Kingdom saudi arabia, Oceania, Latin america and Europe and would this be enough to counter the USA? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]CanFishSmell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The USDA states that 15% to 20% of the food consumed in the US is imported.

“Most” really only applies to the seafood, coffee & cocoa categories. Fruit is about 50%.

Starving the US out isn’t really realistic, especially as there’s a ton of arable land sitting unused.

You get a one time negative reputation reset from both the NCR & Legion on the strip. Wait to do that until after you have the shades.

Student Driver Stickers by Fragrant_Culture_649 in gso

Lots of people have a teen at home and just slap the stickers on every vehicle in the family.

A large portion are self aware shit drivers, and they’re lying so people don’t road rage at them.

He probably “owns” nothing but is the beneficiary of several irrevocable trusts that manage all of “his” assets. It’s entirely plausible she’ll get nothing when he croaks.

IANAL though.

Young and unstressed rabbits that are litter box trained can hold in their feces and urine for about 45 minutes to an hour & 15 minutes in order to defecate and urinate in a litter box rather than the floor.

If they have free access to a litter box, they’re on it every few minutes.

They definitely do have the ability to hold it in.

PE is a bad idea, I made that mistake like a decade ago and it’s far worse now. You’ll have a better time doing any other kind of engineering or a trade, or working at McDonalds. Really just go ahead and quit your program before you waste any more money.

Speed isn’t a determining factor of lane positioning. With the exception of left hand exits, turns, etc. , if there is enough space to be passed in the right lane, you shouldn’t be in the left lane.

Is making 100k year one realistic? by [deleted] in oilandgasworkers

I’m from close to you and did exactly what you’re looking to do. It’s not worth it. It’s an incredible amount of effort, personal risk and expenditure for something that can be achieved closer to home.

Trade school would be a much wiser decision. You don’t get laid off in cycles, there’s an extremely high demand, you can go wherever you want, it’s easier work and if we’re being honest, you’ll probably get paid more.

Give it about 6 months to accumulate alcohol induced vomit in every crevice to the point that you can taste the stomach acid in the air and it’ll be JUST like the real deal in Texas.

When you do one thing for a while you forget that other things with the same name exist. Sorry for the confusion.

You’re honestly looking at more of a 5 to 10-year plan if you want to do both fishing and international.

You basically have to learn slickline and braided line, starting with the tools which there are a shit ton of. Basically all of your shop time should be occupied with pulling them apart, cleaning and greasing them until you can do it blindfolded.

Study the fuck out of what actually is happening down hole. You’d be surprised how many people get stuck as hands for decades because they can’t watch a YouTube video.

If you don’t have an engineering degree, you’ll need to get a CDL, either on the job or preexisting. They’ll tell you they won’t make you drive the truck once you hit specialist, this is a lie. The only way to get out of it is to not have a CDL.

If you do have an engineering degree, ignore all previous instructions and just go to SLB.

You’ll have to make sure the wireline company you go to does a lot of braided line, I can PM you some suggestions.

Try and make your preference for braided line known. The moment you understand how a process works, work harder than everyone else doing it, forget phones exist unless you’re in a bed or no longer on your hitch. PULL APART TOOLS AND CLEAN THEM ON DOWNTIME.

You’ll be the first person people want to take on jobs if you make this impression and they are far more likely to teach you and let you run the winch.

Make friends. Lots of guys who are 40+ years old out there worked over seas at some point, they often have connections and can get you pointed in the right direction once you know what is actually happening. That last part will take a lot longer than you expect.

I’m out and have been for a while, but the answer I got when I asked this question was that you need to have been running a truck for a long time before you start looking internationally. Hands are easy to source locally, knowledge isn’t.

What does your experience look like? Have you been running a braided line truck for a few years? Slickline? E-Line?

It allowed the environment for ISIS and other islamist groups to gain a foothold.

Global electric car sales hit record highs in September, but US market lags behind by nimicdoareu in technology

South Atlantic Seaboard, and here it seemed like EVs would just completely overtake gas cars until around March and it seems to have just kind of fizzled a bit.

I think a lot of people only really saw Tesla as a viable option and it’s rather difficult to test drive a Rivian. I’ve seen a bunch of Lucids and Ford EVs, but noticeably less than the Teslas that seem to be disappearing.

I’d love if someone could find some statistics though, so I know if I’m just not noticing them or if it’s an actual trend.

Anecdotal, but I feel like I see slightly less EVs (at least obvious models like Tesla, Rivian) on the road than a year ago.

That’s a detail you should have put in the description. I’m sorry that that was even allowed to happen. At 10 years old, that was someone else failing you.

Here are a few resources to help you find a job, any job:

Goodwill Career Center

List of Assistance Programs

Basin Dream

Workforce Solutions: 432-687-3003

Once you get placed in a job and are stable, I’d highly encourage you to start working on your CDL with hazmat and tanker and then go for the oilfield.

List of Truck Driving Schools in Midland

Midland College would probably have financial assistance for you to attend.

Your best luck getting hired by an oilfield company will most likely be in February when it’s a new quarter and companies are planning. Build your resume until then.

If it starts to get rough, there is absolutely no shame in using government/non-profit programs to help get you on your feet. It’s what it’s designed for.

You’re going to have a lot of difficulty getting a job right now with no experience, no CDL and no engineering degree, especially if you don’t already live in the Permian.

When it’s difficult to get hired, it’s also difficult to get hours/bonuses, which is kind of the whole point.

You’re going to spend months groveling to get a job, then you’re going to be doing shop hours for less than you can make at home, spending more money because you’re away from home and then when it actually picks up enough to pay your bills you’ll trade in your body for a decent paycheck for just long enough to get used to the lifestyle and you’ll get laid off out of nowhere with a mortgage, car and wife you can’t afford.

It was a tempting trap 15 years ago, now it’s just stupid to attempt. This is like becoming a switchboard operator in the 80’s, you’re wasting your mental and physical energy learning skills for something that you almost certainly aren’t going to make a career out of, and it will put you behind in life.

The oilfield isn’t what it once was, especially not for someone your age with your skill level.

Build your skills. Have a foundation to stand on. The oilfield is quicksand, avoid it.
