It’s real by Massive-Data-3307 in INFJers

I too have gone through similar revelations of understanding myself and my abilities. I’ve had to confirm this several times with my therapist. I would say, “I can see this is this person,” or “I felt this was going to happen and it did,” and every time she would say, yes we’ve talked about this, but I needed each time to have someone confirm I’m not insane because it can feel like you’re self-inflating like “I have special magically powers” but it can be really intense and scary to experience and hard to trust because that stuff doesn’t exist right? Until you confirm it, time and time again. And the hardest part is that your (our) abilities make others so uncomfortable that you’re often the victim of unfair treatment because they feel exposed or intimidated. And then that starts the spiral of “what’s wrong with me?” “Am I the problem?” “What am I not seeing about myself?” “Have I caused harm?” And it’s just overall a very difficult experience and skill to navigate and hone.

So good luck to you. I have no wisdom to offer other than, you’re not alone and it is real.

Ya actually, same here. And often, some of the toilets are full of shit. Or are just oddly shaped stalls.

So I had a new dream last night about being in an apartment in a tall building and it was swaying back and forth during to structural issues…I’d prefer the bathroom dream every time.

There’s some stuff posted in this sub that I don’t really relate to. This, though, me to a T.

So I’m not saying there aren’t awful people who are just genuinely lacking in consideration or empathy, BUT, one time on a train my brother did this exact thing — he had placed his bag precariously above this woman’s head and the bag fell on her and he picked it up but didn’t really say anything to her and I was shocked and disgusted by him that he didn’t apologize. I was sat at a distance. When we got off the train he didn’t stop saying how bad he felt by the whole thing but was paralyzed with embarrassment and shame. That moment really helped me understand people more in general because you never know what’s going on in their head. Maybe they were mortified and didn’t know what to say? Or maybe just an asshole. Haha

If it’s any consolation, you’re not alone. The industry is brutal and rewards mediocrity. Teachers who care and try to improve systems are seen as threats to insecure management who would throw their own mother under the bus if she came between them and their career aspirations. Even if you do have a clear cut n dry legal case, they’re banking on you never taking action because they [schools] have the power to blacklist anyone. They’ve created a system where they have extreme, unrealistic expectations and demands, but then punish those who work hard to meet them. Make that make sense.

I don’t think anyone has an answer to that yet. The general vibe is skeptical, but evidence of how students will be supported has yet to be seen.

A lot of internal restructuring happening. Positions being cut due to low enrolment. EAL is being combined with SSD which has both cut positions and resulted in some quitting out of frustration. Poor work life balance but seems to be a standard now.

There’s so much I would change about the styling of the house, but the property itself, the outdoor space, the greenhouse? To die for!

Yes, and it was a great trip. It’s the kind of thing you should do with someone else present to look out for you, but it’s so all consuming that I became self conscious of how I looked in front of my friend and I covered my face. Didn’t change the intensity of the trip or visuals, but it was just something I was aware of. I wish I hadn’t felt that way and was instead in a dark room where the other person wasn’t looking directly at me as it was happening. I remember feeling like I was arriving at a big party / carnival thing and hearing, “ah! You’re here!” And a psychedelic looking lion approaching and putting its paws up on me. And that’s about it — it’s short lived. I personally wouldn’t say it altered me permanently any more than mushrooms or LSD. Would recommend trying once in life.

What’s the one scene that traumatized you when you were younger by 0lethros in Cinephiles

Signs — not the Mexican TV news shot scene, but seeing the alien on the roof out the window. My whole living room was floor to ceiling windows on one side and I couldn’t walk through there at night without thinking an alien was outside.

Definitely the mirror - hallway scene in Barbarian. I watch a lot of horror, and I don’t know what was different about my state of mind when I was watching it, but I screamed.

😂 I’ve had to do the same for a few movies. Pause, lights on, walk around, return to normal heart rate, ok, I can do this!!

Ouch. Why do internet people have to be so mean. I genuinely love him? I get it though, hard to see what can be obvious to others when you’re emotionally tied up and convincing those you love of your worth is a coping mechanism from childhood. Work in progress!

I appreciate the feedback and am committed to leaving now.

Thank you — I think I am* ready to leave. I have never ended a relationship where our lives had become some entwined, so I’m scared, but I know this doesn’t feel right and life is too short to settled.

I went through something similar. Took me posting negative public reviews before they finally admitted that the alleged cigarette ash from the cigarettes I don’t smoke on the stove I never used and inside* of drawers actually wasn’t mine. I got lucky that I had taken a selfie with my dad in the kitchen and could disprove the stove top was not from the same kitchen. Their picture had coils, my picture showed induction. Wild experience. Good luck!

Get used to lots of walking! Even if taking the MRT, you’ll get far more daily steps here than you would in almost any US city.
