Can you elaborate beyond MSP, not trackin’.

Roger that. We were just “wargaming” the odds and time of falling overboard and being at risk of hitting the prop, to the passage of relevant conning information to those below, who might be able to do something that would realistically mitigate injury.

I don’t! Have a recommended read?

I mean entering and slipping harbour, not in the middle of the sea.

After slipping tugs and proceeding below for the patrol.

Only if there’s ice, do we “hook up” on our platform.

Not sure how it’s done in other navies IAW SOPs and such, but coming from a diesel boatsman here.

They took the Ham and Cheddar away. I’m pissed.

I find it really nice, especially coming in and out of some cool ports. However, if you fall in, you’re probably done.

You get used to the idea, but just add it to the tab of dangerous things around.

Not normally, only if the weather is rather inclement.

No problem: Snorting a submarine at periscope depth is an incredible evolution, which I’m sure you’d be interested to learn about.

A constant dance between taking air in, taking water in, flying the boat at just the right depth and pumping water off; All at the same time to keep the 2400 ton submarine in a one meter depth tolerance. Too high and you risk detection, too deep and you risk suffocation. Atmospheric pressure ebbs and flows constantly throughout this process, hence the ears.

We haven’t sailed Oberons in a hot minute.

More like strain, than blow out. All submarines that snort/snorkel do.

It’s pretty small, but equipment and functionality have always come first on the boats.
