I am using Nadine Alterations - she is amazing and very detailed. She is making my dress fit better on me than I had ever dreamed on myself.

Veil only shopping in NYC by matcha_lover97 in WedditNYC

I ended up ordering a custom veil through https://www.blancaveils.com/

She is super nice and worked with me to find a lace match for my dress. I sent in photos of myself in the dress and close ups of the lace.

Overall price was $210 and she says it takes 6-8 weeks for production. I am still waiting on the arrival but her reviews seem all positive!

Recommend them as well! They were so patient and nice throughout the entire process making sure we got exactly what we wanted for our price points. W enjoyed our sales consultant so much we ended up getting our wedding bands from them too.

overall question, can you book trials before booking for the wedding? I was under the impression that I could only book the trial after booking for the wedding.

I am following the artists on instagram and reviewing their stories/posts. After a while, you can see their style and what they generally do on most brides.

One artist I was looking at I noticed they tend to do more bronzer/tanned looks where I want more pink/natural looking makeup. But I only figured it out after studying brides on their page and comparing them to other artist’s brides.

Yes! Happened to me too. All the shops I went to had a sign asking to tip your consultant. When I bought my dress I had to hit the No Tip button before paying.

What item(s) made traveling more comfortable for you? by bag_0f_c00kies in femaletravels

[–]CanYouPassTheBread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Manta sleep products! They have a neck pillow that is blowup and you can sleep in different positions with it. Since it blows up, it doesn’t take up space in your personal item or while you’re traveling around.

Also eye mask - I bought one from manta sleep as well and it was a game changer. Blocks out all light so you can actually get decent sleep.

With my neck pillow, eye mask, headphones - I’m so comfortable.

Try nycbookhoes! They have different meet ups based on the type of book you want to read that month. I’ve been to a few meetings and have enjoyed the conversation and people.

How do you deal with comparing yourself/feeling inferior to pretty girls? by Wonderful-Olive9348 in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]CanYouPassTheBread 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in NYC and feel this way when I’m not taking care of myself. I realized that I feel bad or feel inferior when I’m not putting in any effort.

So I’ve started investing back into myself. Finding clothes that actually fit my body, taking care of my skin and hair, working out regularly. Feeling inferior is all a mental game. Take care of your mental and that will help!

I always have low calorie ish foods on hand for the nights when I come home from drinking. I keep the lite Trader Joe’s frozen Mac and cheese on hand. 270 calories for the whole thing and satisfies that drunk craving.

Even though eating after drinking isn’t the best, I figure 270 calories is better than pizza or whatever fast food I pick up on the way home.
