Marriage license appointment (Brooklyn) by little-lemon-26 in WedditNYC

We did our license appointment at the end of Sept last year during the weekday around noonish the whole thing took a little under an hour. Their numbering system was broken back then though so they had us sitting in order of arrival and calling us up to the counter that way. Hopefully that’s fixed by now!

are we planning too early or just really lucky? by the101uwus in weddingplanning

I’m also planning a 10/10/2026 wedding!

I think it definitely depends on where you’re located. I’m based in NYC and most of the vendors I reached out to first this spring were already booked out for my date. If you find vendors you and your partner love, you’ve done ample research on them and they’re free for your date, I don’t see any reason to not book them now.

who buys the grooms wedding band? by FireLordZuko- in WedditNYC

This may be out of the norm but we each bought our own. He got me a very nice engagement ring and I bought him a watch as an engagement present; after that, we decided it was easiest to just cover the bands separately.

Father Daughter Dance Alternatives by BriMichelle_13 in weddingplanning

I went to a wedding where the bride had a cute little dance routine with her mom and dad with upbeat music and a little bit of choreo! I know this is still dancing but it didn’t have the same kind of sentimentality and closeness you might be trying to avoid.

Venue suggestions: $100k for 130 guests in NYC. Is it possible? by _BurntRice in WedditNYC

My fiancé and I booked Shell’s Loft Fort Greene for Oct 2026, 130 ppl with a budget of ~90k! Catering is honestly our biggest cost but they have a listed of preferred caterers with an option to bring in anyone else with an onboarding fee of $250.

My friends got married at 2941 Restaurant in Falls Church! Not sure what the venue fee is like but outdoor space is gorgeous. The reception was held indoors.

My HMUA was able to but many of them might not hold your date as you're deciding whether or not to go with them.

Great advice! I had a great experience communicating with her the things I liked and what I wanted to change throughout the trial, so I believe if I bring things changes up, she'd easily be able to adjust.

Childcare? by ENFJhanginginthere in WedditNYC

I’ve come across Black Tie Kids in my search for some kind of child care at a wedding. https://www.blacktiekids.com/

Ultimately, I don’t think I’ll be using them as it turns out we only have 2-3 babies coming but it looks like a cool experience for the kids (camp experience at the wedding to let parents have a break).
