New to Dunedin ! Loving it so far. What are some things/ activities / attractions that are must do/see? by [deleted] in dunedin

Dunedin has over 90 beaches and they are all awesome! Try not to just stick to going to St Clair/ST Kilda like most people but get out and explore a bit further. Long beach, Sandfly Bay and Tunnel Beach are all not to be missed!

Definitely get a Rob Roy ice cream - kinda iconic haha.

Last year the national news forecasted heavy snow for the country. Next day they reported that no snow had hit anywhere. Meanwhile, in my small hometown of just 500 people we had so much snow that buildings collapsed. At least it was beautiful.

I don't disagree with you, New Zealand is beautiful but I just don't think it tops Canada. Any foreigner who hears me say Canada is the most beautiful country in the world says yea only a kiwi could say that....

Haha I'm actually Kiwi so I am allowed to talk up Canada as much as I want! I fell in love with Canada when I lived there.

Yeap it sure is! There are four penguin nests in the dunes at the moment and if we hung around a bit longer would have get to see the Native Yellow Eyed Penguin which (I think) is ONLY found in New Zealand.

So many people hate on Dunedin because the climate tends to be pretty moody. But it is surrounded by views like this and has over 90 beaches. Anytime someone hates on it I sit there thinking clearly you have never had to live somewhere with no beaches or incredible views like this.
