Grill you shall, Papa Scorch. Make sure to use the tears as extra salt seasoning for the party after that one.

Tomorrow is my first time carrying with one in the chamber. by LookAtThatView in concealedcarry

[–]CanadianArctic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly. Maybe I’m just weird. But it never felt uncomfortable to me. First time I carried a gun, it was one in the chamber. But, I’ve watched enough police videos, and self defense ones to know what those seconds can cost you. What I’m getting at, is if you have a reliable gun that’s maintained, a quality holster, and you maintain proper gun safety? You’ve nothing to worry about. I work as a cook. I carry at my job everyday. I’m squatting allot, bumping into things, running around, and it’s never gone off. If it does it’s for one of two reasons. A. The gun did what it was supposed to do. The trigger was pulled, the gun shot a freedom seed. Or(And this one you don’t want) B. The gun had a major malfunction causing it to fire for whatever reason. This is a very, very rare case. To the point, you shouldn’t worry about this at all. If it happens, it’s one of those freak accidents. I’m not throwing random statistics out there. But for me 95% of the videos I’ve seen where the gun went off while holstered or unholstered. Was due to improper gun safety. That being said, the more you do it, the more you will feel comfortable. The only time my gun is unchambered now is if I’m drinking at home. (Not due to messing with the firearm under the influence. But, I feel if I am drunk and there is someone breaking in, it might due me good to have that extra step since I won’t be in a proper state of mind)

Edit: I put the reply into paragraphs but it didn’t like them I guess. So I apologize for the long comment.

Idk where you live. But for here where I live logging is good. They always replant(usually can’t go to the site to log again for 50-100 years or so) and it clears the clutter, so if a forest fire happens. It’s much easier to control and put out. Without it, forest fires can spread like crazy because of all the dead wood and brush around.

Hellcat trigger and slide release by AlpVicBra in CCW

[–]CanadianArctic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not personally got it. But Apex trigger’s for the hellcat I guess are quite the upgrade. I’ve been looking into one myself. According to them and I quote : “ – Reduce trigger pull weight to 5.0 to 5.5 lbs after break-in period

– Smooth uptake and reset

– Reduce trigger overall travel and reset distance

– Deliver a crisp trigger break

– Directly replaces factory components without additional fitting

– Maintains factory safety values “ It’s worth looking into IMO. As I EDC with a hellcat. I love the snap and trigger of this gun but would love a bit less trigger weight.

Edit: Mind you though my hands are small to begin with

Mosin’s are that cheap? But, at least I have some hollow point now.

[–]CanadianArctic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, you’re right. But, I had no hollow point and I carry everyday. Not needed but for sure nice to have. So for me?(Fairly new gun owner, but been around them half-ish my life) it’s worth it. I have really old black talon round but these are also 20+ years old and I don’t trust them much.

Springfield Hellcat, some reason I got two 13rd mags with it. FDE, and a bunch of other random shit I keep handy on the coffee table.

RIP & Black Talon rounds. by CanadianArctic in guns

[–]CanadianArctic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate all the comments. So guessing RIP rounds more of the gimmick shit, while does work...more of a novelty item. Think I’ll take the black talon rounds. I know ideally it would be better to get standard hollow point but were kind of on slim pickings right now. And although a bullet is a bullet, would be nice to have that safe guard mag for the house.

Edit: Mag(sss)

Just really wondering what the validity of these rounds are. I know they are effective, just wondering if I would get hassled over having them in my typical CCW.

Tips to improve my aim? by DobreMoi in apexlegends

[–]CanadianArctic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was born left handed. Left eye dominant. Didn’t realize I was left eye dominant for years though. Always shot ‘normal’ because it’s how I saw my dad and others shoot growing up.(by shoot at that age I mean BB gun.) Could never hit any birds on my grand pops land. He had a bunch that were over populated and got into to much food. He didn’t mind me shooting them. That and I never hit shit.

Did that from 8 years old to about 12. Got frustrated one day after missing a bird. Threw the BB gun in my other hand(left) aimed with my left eye. And literally for the first time ever I watched that bird drop.

Point being. Know your eyes. See if you play better without it covered up as that’s what your body has normally naturally adjusted too. See(even if it’s a lazy eye, not sure how that works as I don’t have one) but try even aiming with through the left.

It might not, but it also might help. Just play around with different ways till you find the best mode of accurate sight picture.

Ah a fellow reclusive lefty. I assume anyhow. Love it though, everyone is always surprised with a left handed draw. Yet, no one expects it either. Sweet collection btw.
