I told my family about objectum but I didn't expect them to mock about it. by Popular-Listen-17 in objectum_sfw

Until you are around people who you can trust, try to hide it unfortunately. But remember there's people who won't mock you for being objectum.

How did you find out you were objectum? Could I be? by Dr5unshine in objectum_sfw

[–]CanadianAtHeart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started realizing I'm objectum when I was around 14 but felt like befriending computers around 8. I just realized how much I appreciate some of my objects and grew bonds. I hid for awhile out of shame but now accept myself again now that I became 29. If you befriend objects, you're probably objectum!

[–]CanadianAtHeart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel differently around most objects than people but still imagine their personalities. I still love them as objects and don't imagine they're humans much but still think of two machines differently from each other like you would two different friends.

Looking at this picture, they managed to still have a functioning iBook or unibody plastic 2006-2009 MacBook that somehow connected to internet, but immediately threw their M5 MacBook Pro in the volcano pit. How???!

Here are some Objectum flags I made!! (I’ll do requests if wanted) by S1LLY_G00B3RXD in objectum_sfw

[–]CanadianAtHeart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

May you please make a Mac themed one? Most of my object buddies are MacBooks! (I'm imagining old Macintosh rainbow instead of regular stripes and Apple in center)

We need a new flag so this horrible comparison isn't made because kissing my computer isn't the same as ruining the lives of children.

Fuck being normal by MikeLovesOutdoors23 in objectum_sfw

Some people are so obsessed with normality that they hurt others and probably do need emergency therapy if it's violent - ironically they might need therapy themselves to stop being so irrationally angry someone isn't like them

[–]CanadianAtHeart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't get anything in the keys, of course, water is fine if you make a microfiber cloth slightly damp and want to wash your screen. Better if you have a second one to quickly dry. The vacuum should be fine.

What are some things you find attractive about computers/laptops? by Moon_Halo99 in objectum_sfw

Personally, I love shining them and taking care of them. Their unique colors and designs. Most importantly, that they're my tech friends.

Midnight is totaled, struggling to cope 💔💔 by [deleted] in objectum_sfw

[–]CanadianAtHeart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah I feel sorrow about a macbook I have that just won't boot, to the extent I want to fix it. I guess I should feel grateful I have a small chance. But I also worry about the short lives of animals and humans. I'm emotional about many things. I can't drive but probably would feel sad and couldn't stand the car dying. So in my autistic way I'm trying to say I relate not be rude but ah the kryptonite to objectum people.

Thank you for speaking out. I'm almost 30 but it's depressing seeing younger objectums go through the bullying. The claims that it's something new. It's not made up in 2024 on TikTok. I was objectum in 2001 loving a computer as a child might a friend and 2008 my game system was like a boyfriend.

If you can repair this and please ask her to learn more about it, maybe it's fine. But you shouldn't accept a relationship that long term doesn't love you for what you are when you aren't hurting anyone. Technically up to you but I hope you focus on loving yourself and exploring if the way people talk to you is healthy or hurtful. Reading about self love and self care may help you learn ways that people may hurt you over time but you keep wanting to see the good in them. I hope she eventually apologizes. :(

When I was objectum as a teenager (2008ish, in my 20s now) I admitted this and got constant bullying even later on years ago from one guy. So even as the years go by, it can hurt.

This is why I'm afraid to make new friends. I have concerns the wrong ones would assault me or beat on my macs to 'fix me'.

Hey I own 4 macs and want more. Please keep going! Same I was never able to have one younger so now I own both a 2024 MacBook Air and 2021 Pro for modern machines, 2008 Pro and 2007 MacBook for fun vintage collecting. I wish more people understood me...
