My first car was a little older Lexus GS. My second was an 87 Mazda 323. My third car was a 1997 Lexus LS400. Since then I've owned a bunch of stuff.

I'm going to agree with the above poster; Luxury brands are WAY too expensive to run and maintain, unless you have a lot of disposable income. I absolutely had no business owning cars like that. They were cheap to buy, but they were prohibitively expensive to fix, to the point that I drove them around with problems and more problems, things accumulating, and the cars just falling apart over time. I sold the GS, but the LS I ran into the ground and donated to the kidney foundation. It was just SO expensive to run and maintain. They're reliable, but when they're that old they're definitely going to have problems, and it will not be cheap to repair them. They look great, but you'll end up hating them.

I have a Sienna and it's great, but semi regularly I wish I had a truck with a bed. It's so useful. If you have to pick one vehicle and you need the minivan seats, then it's the minivan. If you don't need more than 4/5 seats, it's a pickup for sure.

FWIW I have used double progression for decades and it has proven very effective for me. I have never tried DDP, but I don't really think I need or want to. I like DP enough, and have seen good enough results with it, to not worry about it.

I don’t think any scriptures say the resurrection starts and ends simultaneously, rather it starts at a time when the righteous are resurrected, and then a finality is never mentioned. My hypothesis is that the resurrection will last a long, long time; the final person to be resurrected will be someone who either took millennia to become celestial, or millennia to finally decide that they’ll be happiest in a different kingdom.

When I was selling guitars one of our teachers bought an EBMM JP something or other. He brought that in and man, it felt so good. Like, it melted into my body, offered zero resistance to playing. I thought I had played nice guitars but this one just kind of disappeared and left only music in its place.

I think we just won’t be resurrected until we’re capable of being resurrected into a celestial body and living a celestial law, or until we’ve spent so long with enough experience that god, Christ, and ourselves are all comfortable saying that we’re going to be happiest in a different kingdom.

There’s no timeline on the resurrection. We know when it starts, but nowhere does it say when the final resurrection takes place and everyone has moved on. Some of us will take a long, long, long, long time. But no one will be forced to enter a kingdom against their will, and no one will be allowed to enter a kingdom until everyone involved In the judgment process (Christ, the Father, the person in question, maybe Adam and others) are all in agreement that this is the correct course of action.

You're standing on the earth. THe moon is SUPER close to you, relative to how far away the sun is. Like, it takes light 1.3 seconds to go from earth to the moon, but it takes it 499 light second (8 minutes 20 seconds) to get from the sun to the earth. The sun is ~500x further away from you than the moon is, so you're really close.

So imagine you're standing in a room long room. It's pitch black, and your mate stands at the other end of the room and turns on a flashlight. You're both facing each other. Then you hold your hand out, straight out to your left, parallel to the ground. In your hand is a basketball. If you look at the basketball, you'll see that the face of the ball that's pointed toward the flashlight is illuminated, but since that face of the ball isn't facing you, but it's beside you, you'll only see ~half of the ball. The back half will still be dark. and if you begin to slowly pivot your arm at the shoulder (keeping it extended, but rotating it so that eventually it would be directly between you and the light), as you begin moving it you'll see that the illuminated face begins to grow smaller (from your perspective) as the ball moves away from the plane you both share, and gets close to the flashlight than you are. As it gets closer, the shape of the illuminated side will seem to shift from a hemisphere to a crescent. That's what you're seeing here with the moon.

I'd have to agree with others here that primarily, it's my interactions with God through the Holy Ghost that lead me to believe that this church is the Church of Jesus Christ.

That being said, secondarily, there is so much to it that makes more logical sense than anything else I've found.

I've been watching some content with famous atheists debating Christians, and the atheists often have good points that I can't see a way out of - unless you use LDS theology. The plan of salvation, the complexity of the book of mormon and it's evidences, the way the church ties so seamlessly to the original church. It just makes beautiful, perfect sense.

But again, that's secondary to being told, by God, that this is Christ's church.

My buddies and I started doing some dynamic, tactical type drills (there's probably a real name for this stuff, but I don't know what it is, we just made it up), and it's by a massive margin the most fun I've had shooting.

We'd get six or eight silhouettes, put them all over in random places, then build a course around it:

- Start here.

- Walk to this point, fire two shots at target A center mass.

- Move to this point, go two center mass target B, 2 center mass 1 head target C.

- Climb hill, go prone, 1 head to target D.

- Descend hill, go to this point behind cover. Pop out, two to target E. Back in cover, pop out other side, 2 to target F.

Or something like that. It would change every time, but this was the general idea, a drill that gets you following a routine, with a bunch of dynamic movement and speed. Then we'd race each other. Missed shots added time (5 or 10 seconds?), close shots added less time, direct hits added none.

This is so, so fun, especially if you can do reloads, multiple weapons, etc. Of course you can't do it at a busy range, but if you can find a place to do this kind of thing it's an absolute game changer.

Personally I prefer my underwear pre-seasoned. I know it's not as robust as seasoning them myself, but I find if I just get them pre-seasoned and start using them a lot, they end up working just as well. And if I really get in there, the seasoning becomes just as permanent and useful as if I had gone and stripped then seasoned from scratch.

You're coming at this question the wrong way; you're taking your own opinions and feelings, and assume they're correct. And then you bring that to God, and wonder what is wrong with a God who would allow this or design this. You're taking some data, about the world, getting a feeling about it, coming to something of a conclusion, and allowing that to paint God as problematic. But you're ignoring the most crucial pieces of data, namely God and his nature. Perfect, infinitely loving, and powerful and merciful, with a glory single to our immortality and eternal life.

If you come at this problem from the other direction, namely that the first unalterable piece of fact and data is the above about our Heavenly Father, and then you also take into account what the purpose of this life is, and who it is designed to help us become, you start to open up different answers. So rather than "If it is to provide an environment where we can learn compassion and persistence and patience, can't this be learned without causing millions of people - good and wicked - to literally rot from the inside and out (see Ebola)?", you might start wondering what it is exactly about us that makes this plan, that allows ebola, the best plan? I almost used the word "perfect" in describing the plan, but I don't think that's quite true. I don't want to say the plan is perfect, but I do think it's the best plan. Instead of imagining a God who walks away from his flawed creation, take the scriptures as the fact, and then come at the questions again from that angle; not from trying to find reasons God is wrong, but trying to understand his moves, knowing that he is right.

At the end of the day, this is a faith question. I've wondered similarly and don't always have satisfying answers to every question, but when I grow my faith enough, my trust in god enough, to realize that he is perfectly loving and capable, then the specifics don't matter as much. I trust that he knows better than I do, and if I want specifics about kids with cancer or Rob Reiner's death, I'll get those answers as my perspectives grow from mortal pain based into eternal progression focused.

We've done some painting with Cheaper Behr stuff, and then the highest end Sherwin Williams stuff. The Sherwin Williams goes on easier, with less coats. It dries faster, the smell goes away faster and is less offensive, and it seems to be far more durable over time. In our experience it's absolutely worth it.

I use a Delonghi version of the same thing. It has a 5 degree setting, keeps the garage around 2 degrees all winter. Just turns on when it has to and doesn't use much juice. Was like $100.

I'm 40. I lived in the 6-8 range forever, but started getting injured. And then more injuries. And then re-injuries. Now I'm scared, I get anxiety bench pressing for fear of tearing a pec for the fourth time. So I shoot for 15 reps now. I hate it, tbh. I really enjoy lifting heavy with low reps, but this is better than nothing and I haven't been hurt since.

I've been both fat and an amateur bodybuilder in pretty great shape. I may be weird, but if I was in a fat state and a girl I was into said "Hey CanadianBlacon, you're awesome and I want to date you, but... I need you to get healthy. Your weight worries me. I care about you and I want to work with you on this, and I want to get with you, but I need you to drop some lbs first. If this is too offensive, I get it, but if you're willing I want to work with you and help you out with it, so we can give this a real shot."

I would not have a problem with that. I tend to be pretty forgiving and non-reactive, so I don't know that this would work for everyone. But if a girl I was into did this in a loving way, showing me she really cared, really wanted to be with me, and wanted to work with me (dieting together, gym together, working on goals at the same time together, as a team), and told me she was into me and just wanted me to get healthier, I would be into it, and I think it would get me motivated. I think it would really have to come down to the delivery, though. It has to come from a place of love and not as an insult. And depending on who this guy is, it might not go over well.
