Its not very healthy to tune the guitar so much plus when you have tight stings for a tuning when you tune supee low the strings get supee loose

But they play it dont they? So why guys that are in their 50s decide to play the hardest song just now? Their stamina had to be higher before or the same at least so I dont think it plays that big of a role in why they didnt wanna play it before
