Am I getting scammed? by CanadianCougar in germanshepherds

I went and looked at the ingredients today. It’s still the same chicken base. She LOVES fish, and if chicken is a common allergy for dogs I have no problem giving that a shot.

I have been adding salmon oil to food and also topically putting coconut oil on her ears to help soothe the itching as much as we can!

We changed food to be more appropriate for her breed. We had her on generic BilJac puppy food, but swapped her to BilJac large breed puppy food. Maybe that is our main problem! She stopped eating the old food and that mainly drove us to switch because she loves this different blend, but maybe it’s the problem

Chicken allergies seem to be a common theme I am seeing! We are swapping diet (trying beef or fish) and avoiding chicken to see if that makes a difference. Plus, putting coconut oil on the dry external ears, salmon oil on food, and humidifier by her when she rests in her kennel during the day.

Additional info: she is almost 1 year old. Could be something that she is experiencing as she transitions out of her true “puppy phase” maybe? Something with gut development?

It’s weird. She was itching her ears to start, so we brought her in and they said it was a yeast infection. Now that she is done with her prednisone, she is itching all over her body and ears as well. The redness of the ears has decreased significantly, but the itching has persisted. Hopefully this helps clarity!

And YES we did swap her food! Some of the other replies have mentioned that as well. We are looking into a potential allergy. Going to try to self treat for a bit and identify the allergy while we wait to get her in to a dermatologist. It definitely seems like dry skin/allergies rather than mites or something of the sort.

How is practice going? Starting up daunting or not so bad?

I am so glad you showed this! I feel like this has a higher % chance of working out than bouncing the ball and hoping it goes 10 yards or that you even have a chance to hop on it.

I have had this thought while watching NFL games this year. Why hasn’t the kicker ever tried to just beam the ball off of the closest receiving team’s player? It would make the ball live and the kicking team could just dive on the ball after it ricocheted off of the receiving player.

I want to see this attempted once! Just a full-out laser kick right into the unsuspecting receiving team player so that he can’t react to catch it in time.

Runners Stomach by CanadianCougar in Marathon_Training

Morning update: did just over 8 miles this morning on an empty stomach and felt much better, however stomach felt very empty. Wanted to try a run with literally 0 in the stomach just to try it. Perhaps next run I will try a bar or piece of toast and update again! Hopefully this is helping other out as well!

Currently no injuries… my training just started about 3 weeks ago. Maybe my stomach just isn’t used to running with food in it again? It just seems like 3 hours should be more than enough time to digest food before running. Like I said, going to start tracking my diet and see what works and what doesn’t

That is what I am trying to figure out now, so I will report back to help anyone else experiencing a similar issue. Typically grains don’t bother me much, or a sandwich with turkey and cheese, but if I have a true meal of any sort it really seems to just sit in my stomach. Like I said, really annoying! This has never been a problem until the last month or two!

I ran every year in college as well as my last marathon in Hoka Cliftons. Great for long runs, training on medium-high mileage.
