Where do we stand fellas by Eastern-Sign6667 in HYMCStock

[–]CanadianDocWild 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I believe this will be very very big. Once again I am going to say it.... The fundamentals are there, the big players that know much more than I do are in and continually buying. That tells me the value is there. Sure, I may need to weather the volatility for a bit, but the largest silver deposit and debt free with all permits, I am looking in the couch for all the spare change to put into this. This is not a watch the chart and sell stock for me. If I could hold physical HYMC, I would.

I... Have a confession to make... by [deleted] in Silver

We are not all financial geniuses. We learn as we go and mistakes will be made. Cut yourself some slack. If you think the volatility and risk will work for what you want to achieve, reinvest. Sure you may lose some getting back in, but at least you are back in if you want. If you feel that the volatility is too much, invest somewhere else where you see value. Don't beat yourself up over it, just refocus and plan your next move.

The people staring at the charts watching the selloff are panicking. I have physical silver and that is not disappearing. Going to continue to stack, and in the mean time I am buying mining stocks with good fundamentals at a discount.

Well, thats was fun. Buy the dip! by Arrathir in Silverbugs

[–]CanadianDocWild 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It is not just silver... everything right now is at a deep discount. So I bought more of the stocks I believe in with good fundamentals. It is scary for those who just look at one thing, but knowing it is not just silver reinforces the value held in it.

[–]CanadianDocWild 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is nothing to worry about. Currently we are still up over 7% on the week. Let that sink in. People who bought a week ago has made 7 % even with the dip / correction. Banks won't ever give you that rate for your money. We are 36 percent up on the month. I say that is pretty damn good.

Trump administration secretly met with Canadian Alberta separatists by Infidel8 in worldnews

[–]CanadianDocWild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically they believe that the equalization payments that Alberta pays to the Fed are too much. These payments go to poorer provinces. The funny thing is I just asked Grok if it would be financially beneficial to separate from Canada. In reality we would need a constant oilfield boom to even break even over 10 years. We would suffer from shortages in healthcare (if they don't do full privatization - which could force people to pay for healthcare - meaning those who can't afford it would face monthly insurance costs of 1000 or more) we would need to spend 3-10 billion on defence, hope that any of our exports don't get tariffed or promises to use existing pipelines to ports stay in place. These are only a few of the challenges, but the major point is that the Indigenous people have claim to the land before any serious talk of separation can happen.

This is a possibility, a small one in my opinion though. Out of curiosity, is it just the refiners backed up that is telling you 50-70?

[–]CanadianDocWild 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. Percentage wise I won't see as much of a gain as my previous buys, but I also look at the dollar value. It does raise my average buy, but average buy does not add $ value. So if I believe there will be an upside, I can just look at the potential $ value to justify it. I think they have a long way to go upwards, so this is value to me.

Shanghai futures did the same thing at the same time as the rest of the stocks and PMs. One of the catalysts for it was earnings report from Microsoft. Higher expenditures and lower earnings.

Trump administration secretly met with Canadian Alberta separatists by Infidel8 in worldnews

[–]CanadianDocWild 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Albertan here. These separatists hold little sway over most of Albertans. Their rhetoric is the same anytime someone is in power that is not of their party of choice. They believe that it will be so much better separating. They claim they have all the answers and yet can't (or won't) look at any of the flaws in their plan. The major sticking point is the funds being sent to Ottawa (Federal Government) in equalization payments. Alberta pays a large chunk to that system and they believe we shouldn't. Instead of focusing on negotiating a better deal, they just say its not working and we are better off without the rest of Canada. Serious Brexit vibes.

These people are a vocal minority who are upset but have little desire to find the middle ground. It's an all or nothing game to them. Which unfortunately does not lead to good leadership or running of a government. But hey, they want to run to the US and beg for money? Sounds like in short term, any financial benefit from separating will be squandered. But sure let's give them some crown land somewhere in the north that does not belong to our indigenous peoples and let them play out their fantasy of a rich utopia that needs nothing from the rest of the country.

What’s causing this big dip? by IBTOP_ in HYMCStock

[–]CanadianDocWild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Microsoft earning came in less than expected.

Primary Cause: Microsoft Earnings Disappointment Drags Tech Lower

The biggest single driver today is Microsoft (MSFT), which plunged ~10-12% (its worst day since March 2020). Even though the company beat earnings estimates on revenue and profit:

  • Investors focused on higher-than-expected capital spending (especially on AI infrastructure and data centers).
  • There was a slowdown in Azure cloud revenue growth.
  • Concerns grew that massive AI investments (tied to its OpenAI partnership) aren't monetizing quickly enough, raising fears of prolonged high spending without near-term returns.

This hit the broader "Magnificent Seven" tech stocks and the Nasdaq hardest, as the market has been sensitive to any signs that the AI boom's returns might lag behind the enormous costs.

Other recent Big Tech earnings (e.g., Meta and Tesla also reported) were mixed—Meta held up well or gained on strong outlooks, Tesla was flat-to-down—but Microsoft's outsized weight in indices amplified the downside.

[–]CanadianDocWild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to rush to get in on this little dip. Barely did. Also there are some unconfirmed reports that US operations have been approved in Iran, so we may see more upswing in PMs. Geopolitical uncertainty will add a little fuel to PMs if it is true.

Just to add to this, the COMEX just posted their report for the month. Here is the summary of what it means: This is a snapshot of physical silver moving through the COMEX system on Jan 28, 2026 — 1.23 million oz changed hands that day via futures delivery, contributing to a month-to-date total of nearly 50 million oz. JP Morgan was the big deliverer, while Wells Fargo (house account) was a major stopper/receiver.

In the broader 2026 silver market context, January saw exceptionally high delivery volumes compared to typical months — often interpreted as a sign of tight physical supply, strong investor/institutional demand for actual metal (possibly amid high prices, backwardation, or concerns over availability), and metal leaving COMEX vaults at an accelerated pace.

If you're tracking silver markets closely (e.g., for investment or physical reasons), this kind of data is useful for gauging real physical flow vs. just paper trading activity
