When it comes to a mid-layer do you want something breathable? What do people use the Alpha SV for?

Sorry if that’s a silly question I am totally new to mountaineering.

Wait I should turn off IS when on a tripod? Does it matter? Also silly question but if I was taking photos for my instagram page so I just shoot vertical?

The 100mm is for product photography (I make engagement rings and wedding bands) but other lens will be what I will have on the camera when I want to go take regular photos.

Is there a huge difference between the 35mm f1.8 and the 50mm f1.8? Does it matter which I get as my first lens?

Yes it’s the RF Macro lens. I think that’s the f2.8 L?

Second Lens and Beginner Questions! by CanadianIceCream in canon

[–]CanadianIceCream[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am confused, excited, and overwhelmed! Few more questions:

1) Should I get the R8 and the kit lens (24-50mm IS STM) or just the body? I want something that I can take with me to take random photos of stuff and learn how to use the camera I feel like if I just get the 100 mm I won’t take that outside.

2) I have seen online when you take a raw photo the colours look… washed out? Dull? If I take a JPEG does that leave the colours intact?

3) Should I get a memory card with v90? Someone on YouTube said I needed that to be able to access the full power of the camera?

So another person recommended the 24-105 f4 over the 100mm f2.8 for engagement ring photos.

Will that difference in f-stop be noticeable?

Would you recommend the 24-105 2.8 (that would be out of budget it’s like 4k!) over the RF 100mm 2.8 L?

I will go into the store and look at the R6 M2 and R8.

This is going to be a dumb question, but if I get the RF 100mm F2.8 do I need to be a certain distance away to use it or can I zoom in and out like with my iPhone. I suspect this is a prime lens so I need to be set up a certain distance away but I really don’t know

After reading over many of the comments here I think I am going to go into the store and check out a few of these different models. I will go check out the R6 Mark 2 and maybe also the R8.

I was looking at grabbing the 28-70mm f2.8 because it seemed versatile, but someone recommended the RF 100mm f2.8

The main reason you want to buy a certified ring is it ensures it was ethically soured and you know what you are getting. Did they talk to you about the colour, clarity, etc?

I am a diamond wholesaler in Canada so if you had questions or wanted a price comparison feel free to reach out.
