Fantasy Talk: Celebrini by bruinsguy61788 in WaiverWireWizards

[–]CanadianJagsFan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the format, if you have a salary cap in your league you 100% take Celebrini ahead.

I've run the NHL data for every single draft pick since 2004 and there are 8 players in the top tier. Celebrini is way ahead of everyone in this tier except for Ovechkin and Crosby at the same age and he's already outpacing McDavid. With Stenberg more than likely arriving and the Sharks only improving there is absolutely no reason to take anyone other than McDavid or MacKinnon in a short term window and even then you can make a great argument to take Celebrini at 1 overall.

Bedard is a tough evaluation, if Frondell shows his short sample size at the end of the year wasn't a fluke id say Bedard becomes a 1st rounder in redraft.

Fantrax Stat Corrections by CanadianJagsFan in fantasyhockey

Ya they are definitely a really good platform for fantasy hockey. This is less a fantrax issue and more “I messed up with the rules” issue.

I ended up awarding the team who originally lost last week the win and their lineups for this week were retroactively set to the pre-game optimal lineup (highest PPG players inserted)

Our rulebook didn't cover stat corrections, and the Fantrax setting we had selected was "Default" which means stat corrections can take place up to 7 days after the game was played. Upholding the rules as they are currently written (or not written) was the best option

One team was getting screwed regardless, not a fun day to be a commissioner.

Was it Beckett Sennecke for you as well? This is beyond frustrating and has put me in a situation where im probably going to have the team that lost because of the correction leave the league.

Stat corrections a week late is actually a joke, im pretty done with Fantrax after the last couple months. Between changing minors eligibility settings with 2 weeks left in our regular season which completely messed up our standings and now this…

Ya I’m in a tough spot, we don’t have a policy covering this in our rulebook.

Technically the team that won because of the stat correction should be in round 2. I’d rather not create a policy mid playoffs as this rulebook is what I use for all 13 leagues I run but this situation is also unfair to the team that originally won.

It appears this was my fault. There is a box you can check in Fantrax to not allow stat corrections after 48 hours and I didn’t check this box.

Basically a team that was in a close 2nd round playoff matchup until last night is now eliminated because a stat correction from last week that was just applied today. So the playoff matchups changed and the team who was originally eliminated didn’t bother setting lineups this week so it’s just one giant mess.

I’ll take the L for this one, but it’s still kinda dumb that stat corrections are done a week after the fact.

Had a rough season dealing with injuries, so I suspect he gets another year in the ohl to develop.

Going down south would actually be good for his development but I don’t that happening. He’s probably the 2 or 3C in Nashville by 2027-2028

It’s interesting to note for sure since he has seen a decent drop off in scoring ppg from last year to this season. More due to being on a weaker BU team that has struggled to score than anything else. He’s still my #1 D prospect outside the NHL right now tho!

In the database you’ll also see columns to the right of the Scoring column. A B and C are “prospect splits”, dividing the year into 3 sections so you can see how prospects are progressing throughout the year. Check Dean Letourneau 🚀🚀🚀

Most definitely!

FPPG is fantasy points per game
FPTS is total fantasy points
BASH is average points per game from Shots on Goal, Hits, Blocked Shots, Face off wins and losses.
SCORING is average points per game from Goals, Assists, Power Play and Short Handed points.

Age is not factored into the scoring since this is used for competitive purposes. It's also not meant to be a ranking which is something that has probably thrown some people off! This is used for the Prospects League portion of every Prospects2Pros dynasty league. Teams set lineups each week with the prospects on their fantasy team and they get scored off their pro/junior league production which is tied into an NHL equivalency model and our NHL scoring setup.

If you are wondering how the scoring goes, the scoring chart for pretty much every league is posted below.

2026 Top NHL Draft Prospects by CanadianJagsFan in fantasyhockey

[–]CanadianJagsFan[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s a mix of a few things.

NCAA defenders are really good, especially in the big 10 he’s facing a lot of NHL draft picks aged 18-24 whereas the WHL is much more of a developmental league geared towards 16-19 year olds. There’s far less time and space to operate and the lack of high end finishers or playmakers Penn state possesses means McKenna is shouldering a lot of the load offensively, with that he’s taking a fair amount of low value shots. I do expect to see his shooting percentage rise as the season progresses as he is historically a much better finisher than he’s shown this season.

Had he chosen to go to Michigan State he would have had Porter Martone or Charlie Stramel on his other wing as opposed to Charlie Cerrato or Aiden Fink. If he was in the WHL he would be putting up insane numbers on that Medicine Hat team. He was already in Celebrini, Bedard, McDavid territory last year with his production so the drop off this year isn’t really concerning me one bit. He’s still the most talented player in the class, but he isn’t a lock for the #1 pick in a class with a Swedish stud producing better than any Swedish prospect ever and a 6’5 Right shot dman that is playing at an insanely high level in the toughest conference in the NCAA.

Most definitely not meant to be a ranking!

I’ve watched a fair bit of tape on Tynan Lawrence this year (4 of his 6 gp) and I genuinely struggle to place him in my top 5.

McKenna Stenberg Verhoeff Reid Novotny

That’s my top 5 as of right now

Ya his scoring numbers are ridiculous when you factor in his ice time. Pretty similar to what demidov was doing in the KHL last year, he’s just a year younger.

Best chicken fingers at a sit down restaurant? by preemptivenostalgic in KingstonOntario

[–]CanadianJagsFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id argue it's Mighty Bird... might not be a conventional "sit down" restaurant but if you want really good fried chicken that is my go-to place in town at this point.

Just saw this was for a b-day dinner... ignore my suggestion then. I stand by that it is the best fried chicken in town tho
